Great quality, high cost

Before buying this I read on a review "this is the bentley of space heaters" and I cannot agree more. The high price is purely for the look, aesthetics and safety that comes from having no blades or open heating element that can burn you, other than that it pretty much gets the job done like all the other space heaters I've owned. One additional benefit may be that it does not collect dust on the back side like other space heaters because it moves air through an open frame from dyson's proprietary "air multiplier technology." It is pricey and if all you're looking for is heating a space then other space heaters may be better suited for you. I would recommend this if you have toddlers or children because it is bladeless and does not heat up to such an extent that it could hurt a child.
The device comes with two modes of air distribution "jet direct" and a wide open distribution. I like the jet direct air because it blows hot or cool air directly only you and you definitely feel comfortable without overheating.
It is 1500W just like all other space heaters, but will save you money because you can set a temperature and it will automatically turn off when that temperature is reached to avoid overheating a space and wasting money.

While this is definitely a powerful phone it has certain "lag" issues that really made me dock two stars. The phone is not seemless when switching tasks and tends to lag as you are moving from screen to screen. This taken with the fact that it has only one antenna for both data and calling really upsets me: my sprint samsung s6 cannot browse the web while making a call! That alone had me considering whether or not I should return this device. I ultimately decided to keep it because of a workaround.

Is it a backup or initial heater
I have a small 500 sq ft apt and I wanted to know if this unit will heat it by itself or is it intended as a back-up for another source of heat.
It will heat by itself, but it's 1500W and the electric costs could rise significantly if you are using it as a sole source of heat. I use it to heat a 250 sq ft space and it definitely does it easily, 500 sq ft may be pushing it especially as a primary source of heat.

Does this fan do anything to cool a room that is NOT air conditioned?
It has a "jet direct" feature which blows a stream of cool air directly on you in a linear fashion rather than spreading the air out through the entire room. It is NOT an air conditioner and will NOT cool a room significantly.

Economic?
How economical is the heater fan? Specs please.
It's 1500W same as any other heater. It is not more efficient when it comes to energy use. The economics come into play when you think about the ability to set a temperature. The heater will turn on and heat up the room to that exact temp (I verified this with an external thermometer) and shut off when that temp is reached to prevent overheating a space and wasting money.

Any Dyson heaters that are less than 12 amps?
I live in a 1929 building, and 12 amp heaters blow the breakers... Are there any Dyson heaters that are less than 12 amps? PLEASE let me know. Many many thanks, Esther
No, this is the same amount of amps as any other space heater. You won't be able to get an electrical benefit with this.

Does this phone come with "Facetime" or something similar besides "Skype"
you can use the google "hangouts" app however that app is quite finicky and does seem to freeze and quit on you from time to time.
