Fine when it works, but it has to be rebooted too often. I purchased it to link a TV on my patio to the indoor cable box approximately 15 feet away. Installation was easy and I was able to get it to work within 15 minutes. The problem is that it would stop working every few days and I would lose signal on both TV's. After contacting tech support 4 times in the first 2 weeks, I learned that the fix was to unplug it for 10 seconds to reboot the device, but that only fixed it temporarily and the reboot had to be repeated every few days. I am returning the product and waiting until they work out the bugs.

Will this one product transmit both DVD and cable or do I need the nyrius 2 hdmi plug version?

No, this only has one HDMI input. Rocketfish makes a version with 2 HDMI inputs. It transmits the signal via using the home's power outlets instead of wirelessly.
