Can Bestbuy hardwire this to the battery without cutting or splicing any cables?

It's actually easier and recommended to connect to fuse panel so it powers up and goes into standby on its own.

No it will not. If you use the Gopro app you can view on mobile device.

Buy OEM batteries. I have used knockoff batteries that were little cheaper however I found that they were difficult to remove from camera. I am staying with Gopro brand.
