These are not just two great Edgar Wright films, they're two of the best comedies ever made, with tons of heart and clever takes on the genres they're based in, and of course they're hilarious.
Frank Durabont is fantastic filmmaker, and this is one of the most unique and interesting Horror/Thrillers I've ever seen. The low budget caused the CGI in the movie to suffer so it's only serviceable effects and it can look low budget at times, but it's incredibly well made with lots of talent with The recourses they had.
This is not my favorite of his, but for the time it came out the animation is great, and the world is fantastical like most Miyazaki films and it's wonderful. Some of the writing and pacing can suffer a bit to where some people may be bored, but I found it very charming throughout.
This release collects every episode from the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender about a young boy who embarks on a dangerous quest to fulfill his destiny as the Avatar.
This has been a very inspirational and enjoyable show for me since I was young when it first aired. Short and sweet review here, animation is great and the story and characters are excellent. It's honestly one of my favorite pieces of entertainment art ever to exist.
I was excited to see this Speilberg and Coen brothers collaboration, and I was let down. Now while the film obviously is very well made and well acted that only gets you so far. This film ultimately will most likely bore you because of its unnecessary near 2 1/2 hour run time, and a lack of intense, interesting scenes. I'm not asking for explosions every five minutes, there are more than enough films out there that keep you invested completely with dialogue, but there has to be a sense of stakes and interest in what's happening, and this film just didn't do it for me. I didn't hate it, but I did fall asleep through it, and that's still saying something.
This film is considered one of the best of all time, now while I don't feel that way this is still an excellent movie. It's held back for me because of its length which I understand was done to make it feel epic, but ultimately it more ended up feeling bloated. It was also held back from the movie not being all that original or incredibly interesting to me. But the incredibly polished sleek look of this film is stunning to look at, all the actors do a great job at keeping you engaged by constantly having things to do and keeping them busy. And most of all even though this film ends in a certain way, I was wrapped up in the story and characters enough to where I would've been satisfied if it had ended in multiple ways, including the way it did end, that's rare in movies. Overall, it's exciting scenes, polished look, and investing characters brought to life by solid acting, directing and writing make this a crime drama definitely worth watching, just make sure you either take an intermission halfway through, or find a way to spare three hours of your time.
Interesting for filmmakers but Keanu's uninterested sounding narration mixed with the over abundance of interviews with so many filmmakers make it kind of a slog to get through at times.
This movie captures the intensity of war and being a soldier about as near flawlessly as you could. While predictable, a bit sappy and perhaps somewhat dissapointing with how certain things are resolved, it's entertaining from start to finish, and highly rewatchable
