Excellent, fresh return to bluegrass roots

I heard what I wasn't expecting to hear when the CD began playing. Excellent musicianship on a variety of stringed bluegrass instruments (Guitar, Banjo, Dobro, Bass Fiddle, Fiddle, Mandolin). Yoakam's return to his bluegrass roots is surprisingly fresh with subtle melodic transitions into full accompaniments that will have even the most reserved listener tapping their toes and grinning from ear to ear. No other voice would fit and the harmonies are as if right out of the Kentucky backwoods. Grab some bourbon, dim the lights, press play and enjoy.
