I bought this because I ran out of HDMI ports in my external videocard which has more display ports than hdmi ports. My monitor is a 2560 x 1080 p (16:9) monitor and when i used this, the maximum resolution I get is only 1920 x 1080. Dont get me wrong, this works fine as long as your monitor has 1920 x 1080 resolution. For my requirement, i ended up buying an ACTIVE displayport - HDMI adapter which supports at least 4K of resolution. I kept this adapter for my other monitor. It's a keeper.

I bought this for my Oculus Rift because my computer has 2 USB 3.0 ports only. It works but do take note that the Oculus Rift detects this as a USB 2.0 port, but it should still work just fine. Before i bought this, my Rift games sometimes get off tracked and freezes. After I installed it, the annoying problem disappeared.The system detects it as a USB 3.0 HW hence you can connect your USB 3.0 devices here and enjoy faster data transfer speeds. For the price, it is cheaper compared to other brands.

It's capable of warming a small area. It's kinda loud similar to most electric fans. It's got only high and low settings and fan only. Fan speed cannot be changed but i dont mind. It works best in areas where there is no strong draft. It has a 4 hour timer, but I wish it also has a thermostat setting, but I guess the reason why it doesnt have one it's because it doesn't have to be since it is designed to warm a small area fast.

This is an older model in its series of products and though it's a pretty old model, the video quality is very good compared to my old iMac. The sound quality produced by the mic is not for broadcast but the video is! The mic is clear enough but if you do webcasting, I would recommend a quality microphone. Color rendition is pretty accurate under fluorescent white light, there is very little lag and no image trailing when casting at 30 FPS. It works great in low light too but I would recommend using a non-glaring lamp for frontal lighting for the best results. I really like it and would recommend it. It is compatible with Green Screens too. The 15 mpixel sensor takes clear pictures too but I see little use of it in my case and it's nice too have. It works in both my Mac Mini and Windows computers and I could not ask for more. I got it at Bestbuy's sale ($53 bucks) and I used my rewards points to further lower down the price to just around $6. Bestbuy Rewards + Sale = Unbeatable price.

Awesome Experience for an affordable price

I bought the $399 package because it was one of the cheapest VR sets out there that came along with touch controls. I added another sensor for a 360 coverage. I paired it up with a 6 year old PC with an i7 2600k processor and an upgraded video card, the RX470. I have the system for like almost 2 months now and I am very satisfied with the experience I'm getting. Though a 2 sensor will work well with most VR content, the 3rd sensor became invaluable when I play robo recall. The system will require at least 3 USB 3 ports and at least 1 USB 2 port. I only have 2 USB 3.0 ports and connecting one of the sensors to a USB 2 port worked just fine. So this gear can pretty much work on a quad computer with a good amount of computing power. Make sure you run a diagnostics software from oculus before buying the product just to make sure it will work on your rig.
- The headset fits very comfortably and you can wear your average size eyeglasses with it but it becomes uncomfortable over a long period because the eyeglass's nose support seems to dig onto your skin because the headgear seems to be pressing the eyeglass to your face. You'll need breaks in between to relax your nose bridge.
- The built-in head set is more than adequate. You don't need to buy a separate headset. The base is good and the experience is immersive.
- The cables of the sensors are long enough for a desktop set-up. I play in a 7' x 5' space and it works fine with me. If you have a bigger room, a 3rd sensor may be necessary. The 3rd sensor I bought came along with an extension USB cable so it was really easy to install at the back of the room. not sure how long the cable was but it was more than 9 feet i think.
- The touch controllers are very comfortable and easy to use. Once you get used to it, it becomes a natural extension of your hands. It's made of really durable plastic. I can tell because I've smashed it several times accidentally on the table and chairs and there are no signs of cracks. each controller is powered by an AA size battery which can last for over a week if you play like 2 to 3 hours a day. Stock up on batteries if you play a lot of shooting games ;-)
- It came also with a wireless/wired game pad with free batteries. i stopped using the wireless version and instead opt to just connect the cable via USB. it saves me on batteries and that's one expense off the gaming budget as i get to save 2 size AA batteries which are better off spent on the touch controllers.

I occasionally clean the lens to minimize the halo effect. Use the cleaning cloth that came with it. DO NOT use any other type of cloth.
The foam on the nose area seems to have detached from the plastic support, but it's not really an issue. I think you can get a double sided tape or non-toxic glue to repair it. DO not use those strong glue that sticks on your skin as those are very toxic. The odor of that glue is irritating.

The price and the touch controllers that came with it was the one that sealed me in the deal. It's way better than the Oculus Gear for Samsung. I've tested all types of content i can put my hands on and the experience is very realistic. 3D videos that are configured with Side-By-Side format becomes very realistic, you'll think you're inside the video. Who needs 3D movies in theaters when you can emulate a 100" screen with 3D realism. Not as high resolution as flat screens but it wont matter as your senses will be focusing on the realism rather than on the pixel resolution. I played with games that brought little toy soldiers into life and it was amazing. Picture playing war craft but this time the pieces are walking all around you. Now imagine toy planes and robots flying and walking around you. how cool is that!
I've tried some horror content and well , i almost wet my pants! hehehe. One game I play is shootout in Dead and Buried and guess what, I got bruises, a sore hand and blisters from kneeling. crawling and hitting the walls around me. it was so immersive, you think it's your real world. Be very careful if you're around people as you can hurt them. make sure you put your monitor away from your play area when playing with intense action games because you can knock it down with a single punch. I tell you, you'll forget the outside world so be very careful ;-)

One more thing, start out with comfortable content and move to action pack ones that are rated moderate to intense once you get the hang of it. If you feel like vomiting, STOP. As you play more, you'll be able to last a little bit longer. Stay safe and secure your play area. remove all breakable objects or anything that can seriously hurt you. Have fun!!!

Great Card for the Price

I installed the RX470 in a PC bought on 2011 and it transformed the workstation into a gaming PC. I used to get only 15 FPS in war thunder using the onboard graphics and the quality was even set to low. With the RX470, I can get a consistent 60 FPS at Ultra High Quality. I've connected it to an LG 29 UM68 Ultra wide monitor and the quality is really good. Fans have a glowing white illumination when turned on and the fans turn-off when the GPU load is at minimum. Once I start playing games, the fans turn on to cool it down. It's cheaper than the RX480 but almost as powerful based on the specs. But if you have the extra cash and a much newer PC, i'd recommend the RX480. This card is well priced and has provided me with satisfaction.

You DO NOT NEED a 50$ HDMI cable to get 4K if your TV or computer screen is less than 15 feet from your console, computer or player. There is no difference in the signal compared to high priced cables because it carries digital signals. It's either you get a signal or you dont :-)

Great Ultrawide 29" monitor, but not perfect

Cost - Definitely a 5/5 The next higher model (34") will be up >500 USD.
Practicality - 5/5 ; I can fit 3 docs side by side without any issues. Still usable as long as you have good eyes ;-) . I can work on website development using only a single screen instead of 2. The speakers are ok and usable. Great for a back-up. the 29" size is more than enough. Not too huge for my work desk.
Input ports: 5/5 2 x HDMI and 1 Display port. I wish it had a thunderbolt port. Take note Mac users, to trigger the Ultrawide maximum resolution without stretching, you need to use the display port and not the HDMI port. This is sort of a let down for me and i could have given it 4 stars but, since you can still use a mini Display Port to Display Port cable, problem solve. It did not come with a miniDisplay port to display port cable. You need to buy one.
Color rendition, Brightness: 5/5 Accurate and very bright. You can change the settings to suit your needs .
Size: 5/5 Very wide but light enough for my reticulating desk arm. I bought a North Bayou desk arm and with the right settings, I can adjust the elevation, tilt with minimal effort.
I'm a Mac user. I observed that when I wake up my Mac from sleep, the monitor also wakes up BUT it detects no signal from the display port. I have to turn off my Mac and turn it back on to fix the issue. I hope this is just a firmware issue. Not a deal breaker , just an annoyance in life to remind you that not everything is perfect ;-)

Bought this to hook up a bare-bones HP desktop to my TV. Video works, but the computer will not recognize the TV in the Sound playback devices, even as it is being displayed ON the TV. What am I doing wrong? How do I get it to "see" the TV as speakers?

Is background altering software available in the C920 or the C930e?
The C920 Camera SW does not come with the background altering feature, but it is supported. If you have a photo booth for Mac or Chroma Cam for Windows, you can change the background , but i would recommend you use a Green or blue Screen for your background for best results
