Kenny Ortega directs Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker in the supernatural comedy Hocus Pocus, which arrives on DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence, making this a pedestrian release from Disney/Buena Vista that will appeal primarily to Midler enthusiasts.
A Disney Halloween-esque experience showcasing the formidable talents of Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker (who shows great potential in being someone else but Carrie Bradshaw; and. just so you know , - she is amazing at it).
The movie leans towards your average "Apocalypse movie" but it is much more when it comes to concept and atmosphere. As we tend to be cozy indoors when it rains or snows outside, so will be your experience watching the abandoned and half-ruined city of New York (while lonely Will Smith cruises the empty streets with his dog and talks to the mannequins).
When it comes to Lana Del Rey i always tend to be brief... The artist carries such a character, depth and exploration that you end up being charmed by her. The record is great, sometimes musically melodramatic ("Honeymoon", "24") , sometimes rebellious ("High by The Beach", "Freak") . The absolute stand-outs are "Music to Watch Boys" and "Swan Song". The misses are "God Knows I Tried" and "Blackest Day" as they portray Lana as a girl with a guitar and a bear (great for the contrast but not great at all when it comes to an image of a glamorous sophisticated woman), and frankly could've been left of the album.
One of the "must watch" independent movies with an emotional charge, deep concepts, outstanding acting and disturbingly strange mood. A piece of art for the ones who enjoy "another kind of movies".
A great addition to your "Inspiring Movies" collection with an Indian flavor. Incredible cast, cinematography, plot and message - just a winning combination... and yes, it will touch you..
Wachowski delivered and freaked us up with Cloud Atlas, V for Vendetta and Matrix. Brain explosion was meant for Jupiter Ascending as well, but it takes a while... There is enough information to process (not as refined and compressed as other work of the infamous cult brothers), as Wackowski we are talking about. But no, not even faux russian diaspora life can distract you from asking these questions.
Its pointless to speak about work of that caliber. Watch it, enjoy it, get the message and never try to pull it in real life. Ridiculously good price for a dvd and Digital copy.
Extremely powerful masterpiece centered on Judi Dench's acting genius. Incredible true story revolving around religion, family, love, sexuality and life itself. The journey will come full circle... And will leave you speechless...
Undoubtedly as strong (if not better) as the first installation. Was pleasantly surprised by the reappearance of the previous cast, still having that rough edgy and excitement. Eva Green is a mad centerpiece. A mast watch
Hasn't the same energy as the first film, but effortlessly achieved to be something else : complex dramedy with a lot of character's development and emotion. In this case the Second Best, thankfully differs from the first one, and the ending will warm your heart. P:S: Incredible cast ensemble; and yes, there is ,finally Bollywood dancing!
