I was familiar with a few of these songs from Big Ones, but I have to say the rest of the album deserves the same recognition. "Eat the Rich," "Livin' On the Edge," and "Amazing" are all worthy of being included on Big Ones, but I think "Get a Grip," "Shut Up and Dance," and "Gotta Love It" could easily have been added as well. Overall, Get a Grip is jam-packed-full of good stuff. The album has a little bit of everything and showcases the many different faces of the band. Excellent CD!
Even though I don't listen to this album too often, "Back In the Saddle" and "Last Child" are enough of a reason to buy it. The rest of the songs on the CD aren't bad, but they don't have the same punch as these two. Perhaps not on the same level as Toys In the Attic, but pretty close.
Permanent Vacation contains a few of Aerosmith's most popular songs from their later years. "Rag Doll," "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)," "Angel," and "Hangman Jury," are all deserving of their popularity. I'm not too crazy about everything on this album, but for the few gems it does contain, it's worth the purchase.
For whatever reason, Pump ranks as my favorite Aerosmith album. When I think of Aerosmith, songs like "Janie's Got a Gun" and "Love In an Elevator" immediately come to mind. Some of the songs might be a little risqué, even for Aerosmith's standards, but they are good, solid, hard-rock tunes. I'd seriously recommend this album to any classic rock lover.
Asylum is one of the band's best albums in my opinion. Who Wants to Be Lonely and Tears are Falling are Paul Stanley classics. The album sounds great and the price is impossible to beat. Strongly recommended Kiss album!
Based on reviews I had read elsewhere I wasn't sure how good of an album this would be. After listening to it though I can say it contains some of my favorite Kiss songs. The title track, My Way, Reason to Live, and Turn on the Night are all great tunes. The album sounds great like all the other Kiss remasters and for the price you can't go wrong!
For the price, this is a decent box set. The sound is a little lacking, but it is nice to have all these albums in one convenient set. I probably would have bought the Atlantic Years set were it available when I purchased this box.
