I purchased the White Philips Hue Starter Kit to use with the Amazon Echo Dot.
It is quite convenient and fun to be able to turn on lights and dim them using voice control.
In addition, with the smartphone Philips Hue app, you can remotely control your lights even if you weren't home.
All in all, a great introduction to home lighting automation.

Replaceable Battery

After having researched possible replacements for my 3 1/4 year old Samsung Galaxy S4, I decided on the LG V20.
The 4 factors that led me to this choice are Android 7.0, the dual rear cameras, the overall build and the 3200 mAH replaceable battery.
I like being able to replace the V20's battery when the time comes when the original battery no longer performs or holds a charge efficiently, just like my old Galaxy S4.
After having used this phone for about a month, I am very happy with all the features & performance of my LG V20. With the addition of an external Qi-compatible USB-C type receiver, my LG V20 can now utilize wireless chargers!

Bought this as a gift after I originally bought a previous one for my Galaxy S4 with an accessory wireless charging battery cover. This charger worked even when my phone was in a Lifeproof Fre case. And with its angled configuration, you don't have to hunt for that wireless charging sweetspot. Although it has a larger footprint than flat wireless chargers, it's ease of use makes up for this slight disadvantage.

Purchased this Lenovo laptop as a replacement for my son's 6 year old Apple Macbook. As an Engineering student, he needed a replacement that could do the same things as his old Macbook. With it's Intel i5 processor, 8 Gig of RAM, this laptop does the job. Although it has a 17.3 inch diag screen, it's relative thinness & lightweight makes it easy to carry around the University campus. And if top of all these great features, it is very reasonably priced.

Well, the View Master VR Starter Pack delivered on those counts. Even though I wear glasses. I was able to use this product without my glasses.
Within minutes after installing the Google Cardboard App, I had configured the View Master VR headset to work with my S4 and I was going through the intro & learning how to go through the menus and viewing the introductory VR material.
After trying a few other Google Cardboard Apps, I've been able to satisfy my curiosity as to what the excitement about VR is all about.
Yes, this initial experience would not be the same as on one of the more expensive models, but it lets you try out VR on the cheap with a plastic viewer instead of a cardboard one for a small initial investment.

I bought the Samsung Mini Qi Charger to use with both a Samsung Galaxy S4 & a S5 that I have upgraded with Qi Wireless Charging receivers. I tested the S4 with both a Lifeproof Fre and a Body Glove Shock Suit and the S5 in an Otterbox Defender. Both were able to fully recharge with their cases on. You do have to make sure that they are placed so that their Qi receiver modules are placed over the center of the Samsung Wireless Minipad.
With the aid of a rubber band I have also been able to use this charger while in our vehicles with the use of a 2.1 watt 12vdc socket adapter. Very handy when using the phones as a GPS unit in the vehicle.
As with all wireless chargers fully charging a cell phone wirelessly will take longer than charging with the charger cord plugged into a charger plugged into a wall socket. However, since our phones are 2 1/2 & 1 1/2 years old, I was getting concerned about wearing out both of their charging ports.

Bought the TYLT VU Wireless Charger when Best Buy had it on sale for $39.99. I read some of the online reviews for this product and I had been looking for a 3-coil Qi compatible wireless charger for my Samsung Galaxy S4 with a wireless Qi receiver. Unlike my previous wireless charger, I don't have to hunt for the sweet spot to enable charging on my phone. I just place my phone on the sloped surface and it starts charging. Whether I place my phone in portrait or landscape mode, doesn't matter. I am really satisfied with this product.

I needed a case for the Galaxy S4 that provided adequate protection from everyday use. Tried a no name case, that gave good protection from bumps and drops but was a bit bulky and didn't have a built in screen protector, port covers or a belt clip. The Otterbox Defender provided all the features I was looking for in a protective cell phone case, plus it is a lot slimmer than the no name case I used previously. An additional plus was when I bought mine, Best Buy had it on sale for $29.99 + tax.

does the blue or a green light suppose to come on even if you dont set phone on it?
i dont have a charging case for this Qi pad .so i dont know if it works or not cause there is no light that comes on when i plug in to the wall.wondering if this is a defective charger pad?
No, the led light should briefly flash when initially plugged into a wall outlet and then go out. The only other time it should be on is when you place a phone to be charged on it.

Does this pad have a battery it or do it need to be plugged in the wall at all time to use?
No, it doesn't. However, it comes with a charging cable and 2.1 watt wall adapter. You can plug the wireless mini pad's charging cable to a battery pack that is able to provide the required 2 watts if you don't have access to a wall outlet.
