I like Starbucks "Pikes Place" K-cups better than any other K-cup coffee that I've tried - and I tried a lot of them. It's the best of what Starbucks sells. It has a good taste, bold without being bitter. If you have ever told yourself "I wish that my coffee tasted as good as fresh ground coffee smells", then you owe it to yourself to try Pikes Place. Just buy a small 12 or 16 pack at the supermarket and try it. If you like it, you can buy the big 40 K-cup packs here at Best Buy.

High energy live performances

If you like J Geils Band, this CD is even better. Sometimes live albums are disappointing - but not this one. Great high energy songs with a cheering audience from start to finish with one exception (The intro to "Love Stinks", called the "Love Rap" on the CD, could have been left out, and nobody would have cared). I just skip over it. If I could save only ten CD's from total worldwide destruction, this would be one of the ten. It's that good.

I heard their song "Take back the power" on the radio, and I bought the CD. The song "Judge not" is pretty good too. The lead singer can move between a great singing voice and a gravelly, punk singing voice at will, and uses this ability to punctuate her songs with "sweet girl - punk girl" moments. The rest of the CD? Meh. But that's how a lot of CD's go - a couple of good songs, and the rest are... meh. It was worth the price.

I bought a 2nd Kuerig K15 for use at work. My older Kuerig K15 has worked very dependably for over a year. At $49.99 as a "Best Buy Deal of the Day", this is an excellent coffeemaker for a single person - or a lone coffee drinker when surrounded by soda drinkers. It brews up to 10 ounces of coffee at a time. You add the water to the water reservoir at the top of the machine, press the "on" button, open the forward facing handle to insert the K-cup (the water will drain into the boiler chamber while you do this), then close the handle and press the blue "brew" button, which will change to red while it is heating and brewing. Once the brewing is done, you open the handle again to dispose of the used K-cup. One small annoyance - you have a limited amount of time (about 90 seconds) from when you press the "on" button to press the "brew" button, or the machine will auto-power off. Still, hot coffee on demand without the cleanup of a regular coffeemaker, or not having to brew a whole pot of coffee to get a single cup - the Kuerig K15 is totally worth it.
FYI - my favorites are Starbucks Morning Blend for a lighter brew, and Starbucks House Blend for a more robust brew. It also brews a variety of hot tea and hot chocolate varieties.

I bought an APC XS-1500 over a year ago to replace one of two much older APC UPS units whose battery had finally failed. Recently, the second older UPS battery died. The XS-1500 the I bought a year ago still shows 100% battery life after a year of almost constant use. Therefore I replaced my second failed UPS with another XS-1500. I briefly considered the new L-ION based APC BG-500, but the BG-500 did not have an external button to silence the alarm, so I bought the XS-1500 instead. One thing you should know - the XS-1500 is heavy, about 25 LBS, so watch your fingers while moving it.

I have tried many K-cup brands, searching for that ever elusive perfect cup of coffee. Starbucks House blend is simply the best I have found so far. The House blend is robust, but not bitter. It is a perfect afternoon pick-me-up with a great flavor. I find it too robust for mornings (I use Starbucks Breakfast blend in the morning). You may want to buy a small 10 pack at first, just to try it. If you are like me, you will find yourself buying it again and again. Yes - it's that good.

I prefer coffee with a robust coffee taste. Not espresso strength, but coffee that tastes like that great coffee bean smell. Not burnt and bitter like overcooked coffee, or weak tasting. Starbucks K-cups hit that sweet spot in the middle. The Starbucks Breakfast blend is not as strong as Starbucks House blend, so this is my preferred morning coffee. Starbucks House blend is my preferred afternoon coffee.

When are the Donut Coffee Shop K-cups going to be on sale again.
The K-cups occasionally go on sale, but no one knows when. Check the Best Buy "Deal of the Day" on their website every day. The deals reset at midnight Central Time, and last for only 24 hours (or until supplies run out).
That last bit is important - for the best selection, you need to shop the "Deals of the Day" when they are first posted (1AM Eastern, 12 Midnight Central, 11 PM Mountain, 10 PM Pacific). If you wait until 6 or 7 PM, your preferred K-cup may be out of stock, with only the more undesirable brands available for purchase. Pumpkin spice coffee ? Ewwwww !
