Great bang for the buck but you'll want more

I too was looking to get into pc gaming a bit, currently have ps3 & xbox360, but really don't know the first thing about building a pc system of my own. I was able to get the I3 alpha for $399 on a price match and considering a similar xbox 360 remote runs about $50 not to mention the windows 8 license that's included makes this built gaming pc a pretty darn good value in parts alone.
Now with that said here is the bad, out of the box with no usb based keyboard/mouse combo setting things up is a bit of a task(meaning you might want to put $25 to the side for a decent keyboard/mouse), the steam UI is clunky as all hell and at least one of the free steam games(metro last light) had some issues out of the box which had me up in arms considering you'd think they would test the free games you're given...loading games, and the steam UI takes forever, the steam UI just from startup takes roughly 1m30s which if you think about it you could click the button for startup and go make yourself a pot of coffee and when you come back its just coming up...thats a long time.
Good thing is the good CAN outweigh the bad but in order to do so you'll need to get some additional ram...heres the thing though, I've found some people had 2x2gb chips while mine had 1x4gb chip of ram in it so before you go and buy 2x4gb chips or 1 gb chip check to see what yours has in it. This, in itself, could potentially save you $30. I bought an 8gb chip thinking mine was going to be like the ones with the 2x2 and it wasn't. And if you have the funds get yourself a 500gb+ ssd drive.
The reason for the 8gb of ram is that alot of todays games recommend at least this amount, for instance battlefield 4, otherwise the game might struggle through it.
The reason for at least a 500gb HD is that I've installed payday2, battlefield 4, metro last light and a couple of indie games and I'm down to 313gb of free space. I think BF4 uses some 50gb by itself, 8-9 games of this size and you're out of room real quick. The SSD drive will speed up your load times for virtually everything so instead of 1m30 for startup, maybe 5-15 seconds.
I've personally invested about $500 now for the system, keyboard/mouse & 8gb ram, I have not done the SSD drive as of yet as another $170 just isn't in the cards just yet but I know what my next investment is. And I've still got a ram slot open for another 8gb card if I want which should make this system future proof for a while but that can wait until the next gen of games start funneling down.

You get what you pay for

In the end you really do get what you pay for in this case, I purchased when it went on sale for $99 as I was looking for a decent but inexpensive bagless for my new home, at my old home I had a really nice vacuum with a removeable motor assembly great for doing stairs, this does not have that, design of the bagless dirt portion is poor at best and 99% of the time when I click the button to empty the contents it only empties 1/2 of whats there. Hose is very short and even with all the extensions will not reach floor to ceiling which is poorly thoughtout IMO. Rewinding cord is a nice novelty but thats pretty much all it is. Also even when you are just using the hose the brush continues to spin, additionally while it might just be me it seems louder than my last vacuum.
What's great about it: Price

Inexpensive starter box

Got mine for a good price at $40 picked up at my local best buy, pretty well put together box and was the perfect size for my 12" Pioneer sub. My only gripe are the wiring terminals are the low end push type, not a big fan. Other than that it works great for what I needed.
What's great about it: Decent sound, good price
What's not so great: low end wiring terminals

Great budget sub

Bought this on a whim knowing my current system which consisted of a single 10" sub in a bandpass box wasn't cutting it, when I saw this one go on sale for $35 shipped I couldn't pass it up. Wanted to actually get two to throw into a bandpass box but unfortunately the sale was only for one sub, no big deal so I just got the one. I didn't have any previous experience with 2 ohm dual voice coil subs but after getting the wiring info I found they can only be wired for 4 ohm's or 1 ohm's which really isn't optimal for most amps ie if you run in at 4 ohm's you aren't making the most of most amps and most amps(including the 3 I have) aren't built to be stable at 1 ohm.
Ultimately these subs really should be run either using a 1 ohm capable amp or run two of these subs in parallel with the subs themselves wired for 4 ohms so that your amp will see a 2 ohm load and take better advantage of the sub's output.
I already had an old amp in my car that I could bridge pretty easily, as it didn't have a channel specific gain, to around 300w and for a single 12" sub it hit HARD! Its currently in a 1.2 cubic foot sealed box that I also got from Best buy.
I decided to try my newer, better, rockford fosgate punch 800a2 amp which is basically a 2 channel 200w per channel amp but I don't like bridging this amp on a dual voice coil sub because it has dual gains and while the 200w was ok, I suppose, the other amp just did a better job in my eyes just because, when bridged, it took better advantage of the sub's specs.
Overall I'm happy but wish I could've gotten two at that price to run in parallel to my RF amp.
What's great about it: Price, bass
What's not so great: basket felt cheaply made with a plastic shell
