Handy Remote, But Could be Better

I am NOT a gamer by any means. I can barely figure out how to power on the various game systems around our house, let alone figure out the game controllers, so once I got myself to the point I had finally figured out how to use our PS3 for streaming Netflix, and gotten my own handy little remote so I didn't have to work the controller, I was quite content.
My teenage son, however, informed me that he wanted his XBox One to sit where the PS3 was sitting in our living room, and that meant I had to learn how to stream Netflix from the XBox One instead. I TRIED to hold my ground and insist on the PS3 because I had my own handy-dandy remote control for it, and the next thing I know, an order arrives from Best Buy. Turns out the teenager (who has a job and earns his own money) has decided he'll eliminate my little remote control excuse by purchasing me a remote for the XBox One. Sigh.
SO . . . I've now learned how to use this remote control. And it is indeed a handy little device. I will say, though, that I do find it harder to use than my PS3 remote. First of all, most of the keys are marked, but for things like turning on closed captioning, or other menu options, this remote is not clear at all, and I usually manage to disconnect my system from the TV at least once whilst trying to figure out how to activate the menu. Not the end of the world. I can usually figure out how to get my movie started again. But I think the buttons really could be marked better so that at least the button that disconnects everything has a big old red "X" on it or something! Also, these buttons have a very soft feel. I have to push them very hard before they actually activate anything. Sometimes I just feel like I'm going to break something before whatever button I'm pushing will actually activate. So I'm hoping this doesn't mean I'll have issues with this in a few months, but for now it's working OK.

You know, I totally get that some people think these movies are really stupid because they're fake as can be. And they've got story lines that are choppy at best. That's fine. I totally agree with all of that. And yet . . . I still get sucked in. There's just something fun about watching the action & the interaction between the people. And they just keep adding more big-name actors/actresses. I thought it couldn't get any better after Jason Statham, but Helen Mirren too? Love her! I laughed so hard at the end with the baby scene, even though it was cheesy as can be! And Kurt Russell's "Mr. Nobody" character has cracked me up since he first appeared in a prior movie, and he continues to entertain in this movie! So if you enjoy the series, this movie's definitely worth the watch!

Years ago my father taught me it's never worth it to purchase extra store warranties, but I have learned that for electronics in today's world, that's not necessarily true. Sometimes I purchase these, and sometimes I don't, but especially for gaming-related items like game consoles and expensive accessories, it's a great investment. I've had to make several exchanges in past years, and with Geek Squad warranties, it is NEVER a problem.

Good Sound, but Won't Stay Connected

I purchased these headphones instead of the A40s because I liked the idea of wireless connectivity. I purchased the PS4 version of the headset and then purchased the accessory cable that allowed it to connect to the XBox One as well. The headphones fit great, and the sound was great, but I got a lot of input lag, and I couldn't get them to stay consistently connected on my network. I'd purchased the Geek Squad warranty, so I did one exchange, and it didn't take long before I had the exact same issues with the new pair, so I just took them back and swapped them out for the A40s, which have worked great for me.
Given the fact I had the exact same connectivity issues with both sets of A50s, maybe it was my network, but I have a pretty high-end router and a high-speed connection, so I don't know for sure. I'd certainly recommend the A50s in terms of the sound and features, but for me, all the connectivity issues made them not worth the trouble!

I purchased this game so my son could play online with a friend of his who really recommended it. He has enjoyed playing it with that friend, although he did say that, compared to other games, when he spent lots of time playing this one, he found it somewhat boring after a while. He did like the feature that gives new "loop boxes" to add new things from time to time. And he still goes back to play this one from time to time, so all in all, probably a pretty decent purchase!

Great Ending Tribute

I've collected the Fast & Furious movies since the very first one, so I had to have this most recent movie too. even though I personally thought this one was "over the top," and I didn't enjoy it quite as much as past movies. The cast of characters is fantastic, though, with Dwayne Johnson & Jason Statham and all the prior characters. And the tribute to Paul Walker at the end was perfect. Glad I could snag this one for $10 on Black Friday!

I got this case after using an iPhone 5 Mophie Juick Pack case for close to 2 years. I like that Mophie has eliminated at least one of my frustrations with the older case, in that it is now a "pass-through" case where I can plug the Mophie cable in & the iPhone will still interact with iTunes (the iPhone 5 case didn't do that - I had to pull the bottom off the case to plug in Apple's lightning cable if I wanted to interact with iTunes). I do wish there was some way to plug in the headphones without that extra Mophie piece, because I keep losing that piece, but other than that, I have no issues with this case, and I got a good price on it ($150 case on sale for $100), so I can't complain!

One of the Dumbest movies I've seen in a long time

Over the years I've grown accustomed to taking my kid to see "kid" movies that I don't expect to like very much myself, and then finding out they really weren't that bad. I tried that for this movie when it was in the theater, and my kid had ZERO interest in seeing this one. However, a co-worker kept telling me she'd really liked it, so I did actually rent the movie to watch it. I definitely should have listened to my kid!! This is arguably one of the dumbest movies I have seen in a long time. I cannot fathom why some people actually seem to like it, but different strokes for different folks, I suppose. On the plus side, though, I needed a Christmas gift for that co-worker who actually loved the movie, and this Blu-ray/DVD combo was only $10 on Black Friday, so I was able to get a great deal on it & made a co-worker happy, so that's all that matters :)

Excellent Remake of an Old Hit!

I don't have a large personal collection of blu-rays or DVDs because I find I rarely watch a movie more than once or twice, but this is one that I just had to have. Such a great version of Cinderella, IMO. I especially loved the fairy godmother parts!! The only other "cinderella" remake that I'd say is any better is "Ever After," which is really a completely different styling anyway. So this movie is definitely worth watching & owning!

Does the Closed Caption button really work? I have a Harmony remote and it doesn't list an IR command for captions on the Xbox One, so I've just been assuming that there isn't one. If this really works, I may have to pick one up.
I have not been able to get the CC button to work. Kind of annoying, actually.
Now, I have discovered I can usually push a different button (B, I think??) and that activates a menu bar across the bottom that contains a CC option, and I can turn it on from there, but the CC button on the remote doesn't do a thing, as near as I've been able to tell.

Would this be compatible with the 6s?
Although it does say its compatible with the 6s I just wanted to be sure because there is a small size difference between the 6 and 6s.
I am using it on a 6s, and it fits just fine.

What does the little button on the back do when you move it from Red to Green ?
Turns the case on. It only charges the phone when it's in the "on" (green) position.
