I love the joycons as controllers. What's cool is that the Switch knows which color each joycon is in the settings, so on screen, you'll know that player 2 is the guy with the yellow joycons for example. I'd recommend a joy con controller grip, as some people need one complete controller to hold onto.

Same lego game formula, with a few twists

A lot of people would say Lego games tend to have the same stale game-play. Though this may be true, I may be lucky in that I don't play too many Lego games. I enjoy the game-play; though simple, it seems that there is plenty to explore and many secrets to find in each area that you visit. The game comes with Legos that you assemble, and actually use; re-positioning them on the scanner in order to solve puzzles/win fights, which should be a big difference from other Lego games.
The writing and dialog though is probably my favorite part. As a 28 year old, I was not expecting to love the banter between heroes/ villains, witty jokes and comments, etc. If you are a parent who may be forced to play this game with your kids, you might be able to appreciate the writing, while the kids jump around.
All in all a worthy buy for me, with the possible exception of all the expansion packs. Though you can play and finish the game with everything in the starter set, there are areas that you won't be able to explore and certain things you can't do without buying additional Lego pack for the game. Keep that in mind when looking at the total cost of the game. I've been trying to buy them when I can get a deal on the sets as best I can.

Very good upgrade to the 360 controller

I use this solely as a controller for my gaming PC in my living room, as an upgrade for the older Xbox 360 controller that I have. There is nothing overly new about the controller for the most part, all the buttons are in the same places, but they seem to have made slight tweaks to make the controller more comfortable to use.
The trigger and bumper buttons have been shaped to be easier to use; they feel like they are easier to switch between if you are like me and use your index fingers to switch between them. Joysticks have a raised ring around the edge that I like; it feels like you have slightly better control with them. As far as I know, the USB connection is necessary for playing on PC, and the provided cable is long enough for my space. It's micro USB, so if it's short for you, at the very least you can get a USB extender cable relatively easily.
Additionally, all PC games that recognized 360 controllers will recognize this controller with no additional issues.
I liked the controller, but I wouldn't consider this a must by if you have a 360 controller and currently enjoy everything about it. If however, you are like me and need a few more controllers for couch co-op for your HTPC, or your 360 controller was spiked into the ground after a bad Rocket League match and no longer works, then definitely consider this controller.
