Adequate considering alternatives

I bought this solar panel so that I could continuously charge my Ring stick cam. It's super easy to connect, which is great. The drawback is that the solar panel does not recharge the stick cam. It merely prevents it from discharging to the point of needing to bring the stick cam inside the house to charge. Another drawback is that you have to make sure you install the panel where it will receive sunlight, yet still be close enough to the stick cam to connect the panel's charging cable. If you happen to install two outside stick cams, then you need to buy two solar panels. Ring should make the charging restrictions of their products much clearer to the consumer. I would recommend this panel to a friend only if they've purchased a Ring stick cam. Otherwise, I would recommend that they not purchase a stick cam at all.

Cool, but difficult to connect outside

I bought three bulbs for the outside of my house. The first light I bought and installed was the porch light. I liked it so much that I bought two additional lights to install on either side of the garage door. The porch light was fairly easy to set up. When I tried installing the two garage door lights, only one light would connect. If I managed to connect the second light, it disconnected the porch light. I'm not sure if this is somehow related to our internet connection and speed. In either case, if after speaking with LIFX the issue is not resolved, I will be returning all three lights. I imagine that if it works as intended, it would be awesome because you can remotely turn on and off the lights and change the color of the lights all from your phone. I just haven't been able to achieve this. I put that I would not recommend to a friend because of the difficulty with connecting the lights to your network.

Great as video doorbell

The best feature is the video doorbell. Improvements should be made so that if you can't hardwire the doorbell, there is a way to charge it without having to remove it from the door plate. The same for the stick cams. It is very inconvenient to install the cams in high places (like on top of the porch or near the roof) and then learn that in order to recharge it, you either have to climb up to remove the cam so that you can plug it in or that you have to buy a solar panel to continuously charge the cam. The Ring system is a great idea and relatively inexpensive. Nevertheless, it could use modifications for convenience and ease of use.

Can the solar panel also be connected to the actual ring door bell or does it work only on ring cameras
It does not work with the doorbell. To continuously charge the doorbell, it must be hardwired to the electrical system. Fairly easy to do, if you have some basic electrical knowledge and if you plan on installing the Ring doorbell in the same place as your old doorbell. Then you can use the same wires that your old doorbell used. I will say this, customer service was very helpful and had great follow-up.
