I travel a lot and really needed a cooler that could really keep my food cold over extended periods. This really does the job. The cooler itself is a little heavy even when empty and could benefit from being on wheels but never the less it is great and I woukd recommend it to anyone.

For such a small speaker the sound quality is remarkable. I purchased a case for it directly from Bose and now I take it with me everywhere. I usually use it for 1 to 3 hours and by then the battery is only down to 80 percent.

Is there any way to control the volume through the phone or is it only adjusted through the actual unit?
Like any other speaker it just amplifying sound so yes you can increase the sound level either through the phone or the speker.

I am using it with a galaxy phone. It is pretty much compatible with any phone that has Bluetooth.

Is there an aux cord/cable included with the speaker or does it need to be purchased separately?
No extra cords are included, just the one for charging.

Will it fit in the travel case with the protective cover on it?
I'm not sure as I don't have the protective cover but I would have to say I doubt it as it is a very tight fit by itself. It would have been better it they had made it 1/4" bigger in both the main compartment and the front pouch for the charger cable. If you don't put the charger base in with it the protective cover might be okay.
