Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Standard Lens: A perfect everyday lens for any photographer, the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G offers fast autofocusing combined with an integrated lens coating to deliver clear and crisp images. The wide-open aperture is ideal for low-light shooting and creating images with beautiful background blur.

Amazing Bokeh

This lens is an incredible value for the money, which probably explains why its so hard to find right now. The wide aperture creates incredible background blur in portraits, and also allows for shorter exposures in low-light conditions.
Another nice thing about this lens is that the outermost element is set deep into the housing. As such, you rarely need to bother with a lens hood, although one is included. On a DX format camera (like my D5100) this FX lens has an equivalent focal length of about 75mm, making it better choice for portraits than the 35mm DX. I thought about settling for the 35mm DX, but I decided to wait until this lens was available. It's worth every penny, and it's a must-own for DX and FX format cameras alike.
What's great about it: Absolutely everything
What's not so great: Hard to find
I would recommend this to a friend!

Snap stunning photos with this UV filter that is compatible with most digital cameras with a 58mm lens and improves image clarity without affecting colors.

Good for protecting you lens, but not much else

I should have just spent the extra money for a proper multi-coated filter. The lens flare and ghosting off of this thing are actually pretty terrible, and I find myself having to remove the filter any time I'm facing even a subtle light source...so that kind of defeats the point, doesn't it?
I'm actually pretty surprised at the number of positive reviews for this item. Maybe other photographers aren't as picky as me, but I was so impressed with the carbon fibre Rocketfish tripod that I picked up last month, that I figured I would give their lens filters a chance. Never again; I'm going to stick with B+W from now on.
After reviewing the site, BestBuy.com does not offer a good alternative that I would recommend.
What's great about it: Lens protection
What's not so great: Flare, ghosting, reflection... things you don't want in your photos
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

No video output
By Gator
I'm sure it's great......if it would display video. Unfortunately, it seems the video card was DOA. I tried multiple displays, HDMI, VGA, cables, and nothing. Very frustrating. It seems like these things were thrown together in a rush. Now I have to be inconvenienced with returning it and hope the next one actually works.

VGA?
April 29, 2016
The graphics card doesn't have VGA output. make sure you're plugging into the graphics card (down at the bottom) and not the VGA or HDMI ports on the motherboard. That's why they were covered.
