Great 4K tv for small places
on April 29, 2018

Got this tv as gift. I was not expecting much at this price point.
first to clarify this TV has HDR at least the logo pops up when HDR signal is fed, i have tried amazon prime and it works with HDR signal.
I have not connected any 4K devices to it yet. not any plan to add any as this in guest room.
I have connected antenna, all local channels tuned in few minutes. it has a pause function for local tv if 16 GB flash drive connect to USB port.
Roku is built in so if you have roku account it will bring all your apps signed in. Roku interface is fast enough not as fast at rook ultra, no deal breaker though.
PQ and settings are limited but enough for most people. I set picture to movie mode and PQ is OK in my opinion, if one has sound bar it decodes DTS as mentioned in specs, I have not verified it. Sound is OK for small area, sound bar needed if you need better dialogue from movies, speakers performed well when I used the higher bass option, there are quite a few to pick from.
I have not noticed any issues with WIFI using 4K streaming, I have apple Time capsule router wireless AC.
For price it good 4K tv.
well all round tv at this price point.

Excellent In ear headphones

I was debating between wireless and wired in ear headphones, I already owned B&W P7 needed something compact decided to get B&W based on my experience with P7 sound quality I was more leaning towards C5.
Pros:
Build Quality, fit and finish is excellent
Sound quality and clarity is excellent. not too much muddy sound
phone calls are clear
Cons:
may be the loop, so far it has not hurt my ears and feel very comfortable
loop is a nice idea, in ear headphones are tough to stay in and be comfortable is a challenge for all manufacturers, B&W has same challenge one has to try to feel it,
buying extended warranty is a good idea if you will use it a lot.
one advise: be careful in unpacking, the plastic piece where cable are snugged is hard and sharp, one have to take caution it could rip cable, not sure why that piece is not made of cardboard instead of thick plastic.
price in line with quality.

The new MacBook Pro is razor-thin, featherlight, and now even faster and more powerful than before. It has the brightest, most colorful Mac notebook display. And it has the revolutionary Touch Bar—a Multi-Touch–enabled strip of glass built into the keyboard for instant access to what you want to do, when you want to do it. The new MacBook Pro is built on groundbreaking ideas. And it’s ready for yours.

Great Laptop
on August 30, 2017

Have moved to Mac a decade ago. have been using 15 inch map for last 7 years, i was on the fence thinking getting one without touch bar, to future proof I got the touch bar version, it gives a bit faster processor and extra ports, as I am planning to use it for 5-7 years it is worth it in my opinion.
It would be nice if is included in 2nd level 13 inch mbp with 256 GB storage, with sale it is close to that price. I think there should be dedicated graphic card at this price range but apple has its way, nothing people could do about it.
if you have not bought newer apple laptop you will have a shock how small and light these new laptops are, my wife's 2012 Retina display 13 inch feel so heavy compare to this machine.
absence of USB ports and sd card slot is so overblown, I would have rather a smallest and lighter laptop and have an adapter for card and usb. it is not an issue for me, for under $50 I bought the adapters which works with USB, HDMI, SD card and usb 3 portable drives. since most of the stuff is in cloud it is not even an issue to be honest. I hardly use usb disks anymore.
Screen is fantastic as many professional reviews will confirm. Keyboard will take some time to get used to, most people will hate/unlike it first and then get used to it. if you need slim Macs this is one compromise apple made and until there is a design problem this KB is staying.
Trackpad is fantastic as expected, the larger size is not an issue, speakers are revelation, how good it sounds it has deeper bass, all from such small area. I have not tried playing any games on it and never have any intention
of playing games, it will be mainly use for photo and normal word-processing and browsing.
if you are contemplating between mbp with or without touch bar go for touch bar, bite the bullet and future proof yourself. the Touch ID alone with faster processor and extra port worth the extra cost.

Apple TV 4K lets you watch movies and shows in amazing 4K HDR - and now it completes the picture with immersive sound from Dolby Atmos¹. It streams your favorite sports, news, and TV channels live. Has great content from apps like Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and ESPN². And thanks to Siri, you can control it all with just your voice.

Confused
By SonyXBR55990E from Queens Village, NY
Let me begin by saying that the Apple TV 4K has really confused me. I have a 4K HDR Sony XBR900E 55 inch TV. It is 4K and HDR ready. I purchased the new apple tv on 09/22/17 and rec'd it the following Tuesday of last week. I set it all up and it recognized that my tv was HDR. However, when I looked at 4K HDR movies in ITunes and Netflix, they didn't wow me like I expected them to. So I did some research and fiddled with the settings and still, nothing. Now I'm not saying that picture wasn't clear, but I thought, that the picture should've been jumping off the screen so to speak. So out of curiosity, I plugged the 4th generation apple tv back in just to see if I missed a setting or did something wrong. Well to my surprise, the picture on the 4th generation apple tv was absolutely awesome!!!! The colors and picture jumped off the screen!! But now the question is this: Why was the picture soooo much clearer on the older apple tv then on the new 4k apple tv? The settings on the Sony TV were the same, the only difference was the apple tv model. So I kept the old apple tv plugged in and returned the new apple tv 4k. I'm not sure what happened but I definitely was not keeping a almost $200 item that I was not happy with. However, although I got to save some money, I'm still a little disappointed because I wanted so bad for the new apple tv to wow me, but it just didn't. I would still recommend this to a friend because everyone has different taste and its not a bad item, it just wasn't for me.

the cable has to be 18 Gbps certified, set chroma to 4:2:2. in case of 4th gen Atv your tv up converts the signal so cable does not make difference, when you pick ATv 4k as 4K HDR source and cable is bottle neck then you have an issue with blurry PQ.
