We were able to format the drive easily for the preferred format type, EXT3. Unit has worked well for two (2) months running incremental backups 2 times a week.

This was a gift for my grandson. 12yr old. Not much experience with computers and needing at least a "chrome book" for school. Thought this would be ideal. Unfortunately, he felt it was too slow. Our other grandsons chrome book, was much faster during startup and also in surfing web. Friends MacBook, was also much quicker. Not sure if it is windows 10, virus programs, or what...but this unit was borderline in my opinion. SO we returned it.
