The Samsung Gear Fit is a good product if you are looking for something that gives you approximate readings for heart rate, steps per day, or distance traveled per day. It is GREAT if you need alerts from your cell phone such as text messages, emails, and calls, however. So, for something that does a little of everything, but may not be exactly accurate for fitness purposes, it does the job.

Is it an accurate pedimeter?
I got the fitness band for xmas and wore it one day to track my steps but it counted more steps than I walked.
Yes, it counts steps as you take them. However, it will also pick up a lot of hand movement. That is why it is so important to wear it on your non-dominant hand. There will be significantly LESS movement coming from this hand naturally. Hope this helps!
