Tough Compact USB Type C Wall Charger
on November 30, 2021

As usual, Anker delivers another solid USB type C power block. Anker has quickly become one of my favorite electronic manufacturers for all of my charging needs. I have yet to have an issue with any of their charging products. This charger provides rapid charging with an output of 25 watts. I love the compact design of this wall charger. It's retractrable prongs make it incredibly easy to tuck into a bag or pocket. I have tried this on my Samsung Note 8 and my Google Pixl 6 and from almost no charge it can charge 50% in about 30 minutes and receives a full charge in a little less than an hour. Of course the only thing I would change is if it came with a USB-C to to USB-C cable. However, since most new electronic devices come with USB-C cables these days, it's not that big of a deal for me.

Chicken Thighs Never Tasted So Goood!
on November 26, 2021
Posted by: k1zit
from Los Angeles
The Cosori aerogrill has been quite the impressive addition to my kitchen. It has resulted in some of the crispiest and juiciest meats I've cooked to date. It's quickly become my favorite for cooking air grilled veggies, air grilled chicken thighs, shrimp, lamb, and the list is continuing to grow as I try new dishes.
Getting started is incredibly easy. Cosori includes everything you need which includes a grill grate, a basket, and a base pan (which is what the grill grate or the basket goes on top of and catches a lot of the oil and fat when air grilling), an accurate instant thermometer, a grill grate scrubber, a splatter guard, and a set of stainless steel grilling skewers. Everything was packaged very securely and neatly making unpacking it a pleasure. I did some light reading on the grill before receiving it and I had read that the vesync app was a must so downloading it was one of the first things I did. Although you don't need the app to cook delicious foods, I highly recommend it. Not a lot of companies that have a companion app continue to pour their heart and soul into the continued development of their app. Cosori does and it shows. I use the app to try new recipes, get guidance on what cooking modes to use (i.e. this grill has roast, broil, crisp, air grill, bake, dehydrate, pre heat and keep warm), and to get a reminder on my phone on when it's time to "shake" or flip my food or when my meals are done.
In terms of cooking performance, I love this little indoor grill. This thing can get up to 510 degrees Fahrenheit! I have cooked some of crispiest yet juiciest chicken thighs to date. The skin was so crispy that it reminded me of eating chicharrones! I will caution that to get your preferred doneness, it will take a bit of trial and error but it's worth the results. At first I followed a chicken thigh recipe recommended on the VeSync app, and while the thighs still came out delicious, the skin got a tad too charred for my liking. On the next go around I adjusted the cooking time be reducing it from 17 minutes to 14 minutes and it came out perfect. I absolutely love cooking vegetables on this thing mainly because of how quick and easy it is and I get similar results to cooking on my outdoor grill. The unit is also very quiet and barely produces any smoke.
A few last key pointers; this griller is built like a tank. It features an all metal and high quality plastic construction and just feels high quality. It houses a very easy to read LED display and an organized button layout. Cleaning it is also super simple. Simply take out the splatter guard, base pan, and griller grate/basket and wash it with a sponge and liquid soap. I can't really find many faults with this indoor grill. If I had a wish list, I would make the grilling surface slightly larger simply because I like cooking in bulk sometimes (the surface area can hold about four 5-6 oz chicken thighs comfortably) and maybe have Cosori throw in some metal hooks of some sort that could be used to pull out the grill grate by the handles immediately after cooking. There's been a couple times when I've finished cooking that I would have loved the option of pulling out the grill grate so I could just dump my veggies on a plate instead of scooping them up with a large spoon or spatula. However, I'm sure I can search for such an accessory online so not a biggie. The included instant thermometer is surprisingly pretty accurate. I compared it to my $100+ thermapen which is factory regulated to extremely stringent specs and the included thermometer was only off by 2 or 3 degrees every time; not bad!
Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this Cosori indoor grill. It was the star of the show this Thanksgiving for cooking delicious foods and meats quickly to pair with some of our entrees. I can't wait to try some of the other recipes on the Vesync app like dehydrating my own beef jerky or some of their dessert reciples like the apple blackberry crisp! Within only a short period of time using this grill, I can already tell I will get several years of use out of it. For those looking for one of the best indoor grills on the market that doesn't require too much space, I couldn't recommend this enough!

The Most Secure Way to Store Your Crypto
on November 9, 2021
Posted by: k1zit
from Los Angeles
This has been a smooth and seamless experience. Just the way any crypto wallet should be. Up until now, I've been using multiple software wallets to manage my coins. I've known that as long as I keep my cell phone or computer secure, and as long as they're not compromised, I'm fine. However, it's no secret that the most secure wallet to own is a hardware/cold storage wallet. As my crypto portfolio has continued to diversify and grow in the last couple years, this couldnt have come at a better time.
Ledger provides everything you need to get the wallet setup. You get a lanyard cable, keychain, USB cable, and these really handy recovery sheet cards that you can use to store your 24 word recovery phrase. You simply visit the URL on the included card and download the Ledger Live application. Ledger live will walk you through all the steps to get your wallet setup. I love the very easy and well written instructions. Ledger really makes sure that you follow every step to a tee. A bit of advice: Make sure you don't "hold" down both buttons when you are making your selections. Just PRESS both of them down at the same time for about a second and it should register. I had some issues with this initally and it's because I was holding down the buttons too long.
Once you've setup your wallet and your recovery phrase, you simply install apps for the crypto assets you want to manage and add their respective accounts so you can begin sending/receiving assets. Everything on the ledger live application is snappy and fluid. The dashboard is thoughtfully designed and you also get some extra features like buying and selling crypto through Coinify.
Another huge plus is that practically every exchange or crypto asset websites have well written documentation on how to transfer crypto to the Nano S ledger. I was also extremely impressed by Ledger's website. Really good documention and useful FAQ section that helped answer some of my initial questions.
One thing that I do wish Ledger would emphasize more is that even though it seems like you can only install around 4 or 5 apps for your crypto assets before your Nano S is out of space, you can certainly manage much much more than that. At first, as seen by my attached screenshot, I thought I was only limited to managing the 4 crypto assets for which I could install apps. This is isn't the case at all. You can simply uninstall an app that you're currently not using to install a different app. This won't affect your crypto. Remember, your coins aren't actually stored in your hardware wallet. The Nano S essentially only stores and protects your private keys that are used to manage your crypto assets. Your coins are stored on the blockchain. I could see this being confusing though especially for beginners...AND it would also still be nice to have more storage so you don't have to uninstall/reinstall apps as frequently.
There are some small caveats I'd like to point out. For example, as I managed my Avalanche crypto assets I noticed that while you can install the Avalanche (AVAX) app on ledger live to interact with your software based Avalance wallet, you can't actually add an avalanche account to ledger live. So I wouldn't exactly call this a "one stop shop". However, the fact that you can use the Nano S to have the AVAX wallet prompt you to confirm access to the keys on your ledger device, still gives you the added benefit of securing your transaction as much as possible.
Another thing to note is that you won't be able to directly manage ERC20 tokens. Instead you'll have to send them to your Ethereum account which is fine. Do note though that while the major/popular ERC20 tokens are supported, not all are (e.g. $SAND, WSCRT).
Overall, this is a simple to use hardware wallet with a great interface in terms of software. It's also backed by a very well known and reputable company in the crypto space. They are the originators of what's now been dubbed "the original hardware wallet". For as long as I can remember, they were the first in the crypto space to come out with a reliable and trustworthy cold storage solution. If you want the most secure way to store your crypto, this is the easiest money you'll ever spend.

Almost the Perfect Package
on November 7, 2021
Posted by: k1zit
from Los Angeles
I've been using an electric shaver for over 15 years. The technology has gotten so good that the closeness of the shave rivals a manual razor. Over the past 15 years, I've been on a quest to find the best electric shaver. I've used everything from Braun series 7/9, Panasonic arc3/arc5, to Phillip Norelco rotary shavers.
In the last few years of using some of the higher end shavers on the market, I've come to the realization that the long held debate that foil shavers provide a closer shave than rotary shavers simply no longer holds true. For the longest time, the Braun series 7 and the Braun series 9 provided the closest shave I've ever received from an electric shaver. For me, the Braun series 9 was king for several years. This changed about a couple of years ago when I tried Phillip's flagship "S9000 Prestige" shaver. The Prestige S9000 not only gave me a slightly closer shave than my Braun series 9, but it was also a lot more comfortable contouring around the natural shape of my neck and face due to the rotary blades. The S9000 nudged the Braun series 9 out of first place. I'm happy to report that this Norelco 9500 provides the same degree of closeness as the flagship S9000 prestige. It is also extremely comfortable. Maybe even slightly more comfortable than the prestige. This is almost a perfect shaver. However, there are a few glaring cons that prevented me from giving it 5 stars. I've listed some of the pros and cons that I came across while using this shaver.
**********PROS**********
- Does not cause ingrown hairs! (There's been some really good razors I've used in the past like the Panasonic ARC5 that cut extremely close but also caused a lot of ingrown hairs. That's an instant deal breaker!).
-Extremely close and comfortable shave. The rotary blade housing has an extra large surface area to provide stability and comfort. Great design choice!
- The most comfortable handle on a shaver I've ever held. The extra long and stout handle makes it easy to grip from multiple angles depending on where you're shaving.
- The LED lighting actually serves a functional purpose. Lights up green when you're mainting optimal pressure, orange means you're applying too much pressure, blue means it hasn't detected your skin.
- Included on-screen display and button allows you to change the shaving feedback. If you don't care for the LEDs or the pressure fedback, you can disable it completely or partially enable it so that it will only turn orange when you're applying too much pressure.
- Very functional bluetooth app capability that provides feedback on your shaving sessions. Philip's "Groomtribe" app gives you the duration of the shave, whether you're applying too much or too little pressure during each shaving session, and also keeps track of your technique (you should be using circular motions). My favorite feature of this is that you don't need to take the phone into the bathroom with you all the time. The shaver automatically keeps track of your shaving sessions on it's onboard memory and then transfers them via bluetooth to the app whenever your phone is in close proximity!
- Very pleasing aromatic fragrance after a cleaning cycle using the included quick clean pod.
- Only takes 1 minute to complete a cleaning cycle. Other razors I've had in the past that came with cleaning stations would take upwards of 5 to 10 minutes of loud cleaning cycles.
- Love the included release button that opens the shaving head. This allows you to quickly run some warm water in the hair chamber to clean it out. Convenient if you run out of cleaning solution or just want a quick clean.
- Very soft yet rigid travel case. One of the softest materials I've ever felt. Love that it's a low profile case.
- Good battery life. On a 100% charge, a 3 minute shave will only drop it down to 94%.
- Great pop up sideburn trimmer. Don't need to fuss about with swapping out attachments.
- IPX7 certified so you can use this in the shower with no worries.
- Made in Netherlands!
**********CONS**********
- Really not a fan of the charging system. As you can tell by the picture, you have to manually attach and detach the power cord to the bottom of the shaver when it's sitting upright on the cleaning station. Not only does this look a bit tacky, but it also requires too much manual overhead with constantly having to attach and detach the cable. I'm not sure why Phillips just didn't integrate the charging system into the cleaning station. This is big deal and largely the reason I dropped a star on an otherwise perfect shaver.
- You can't have the shaver plugged into the power cord during a cleaning cycle. I understand that this is largely due to the safety mechanism that prevents the shaver from being used on your face when plugged in but I was hoping it could be charged during a cleaning cycle.
- Not a fan of the shiny plastic faux chrome accent. I don't think plastic should ever be chrome plated. I think either adding an actual metal accent or just leaving it frosted silver would look much better in my opinion.
- No manual speed adjustment. I must admit that I think the automatic speed that the shaver uses is absolutely perfect and does a great job of balancing speed and comfort. However, it's nice to have the ability to manually increase/decrease the speed for personal preference.
Overall, the Philips Norelco 9500 is almost the perfect package. In terms of the performance alone and the shave that it produces, this is the pinnacle. You will not be disapointed with the level of comfort, noise, and the extremely close shave that this unit produces. However, the lack of an integrated charging system on the cleaning station is a huge miss for me. If you can overlook this, then this is a fantastic shaver that I'm sure will bring you years of excellent grooming.

The Best Android Experience!
on November 5, 2021
Posted by: k1zit
from Los Angeles
I've been a Samsung Note and galaxy user for about a decade. I've invested a lot in the android ecosystem and it's become an integral part of my personal and professional life. It's been quite some time since I've really immersed myself with a device that offers the purest form of the android operating system. Over the years I've grown extremely accustomed to a manufacturer's overlay on top of vanilla android. In my case, it's been the touchwiz user interface from Samsung. Coming from years of using a different user interface, it took me about 3 days for me to begin using the Google Pixel 6 from muscle memory; as if it was second nature. The experience has been a night and day difference - in a very good way! I've heard that Google's android phones are the purest and best way to experience the android platform. I finally understand why that's the case and it took me actually using the phone daily for me to understand. A big part of the reason this phone has really impressed me is because of the innovation that Google has brought to the android platform with their custom designed tensor chip on these new pixel 6 phones. The "Smart AI" features on this phone are incredible. I've listed some key highlights below of my experience with pixel 6.
Design and Construction:
---------------------------
The Google pixel 6 is an extremely premium feeling phone. The phone has matted aluminum sides and a glass back (definitely prefer this over the glossy sides on the pixel 6 pro!). The Gorilla Glass 6 on the back feels like it can withstand some abuse. The front of the display has the Gorilla Glass Victus and as someone who constantly keeps their phone in the same pocket as their keys, I can gladly attest to no scratches on the display. Initially I thought that the protruding bar on the rear of the phone that houses the camera sensors would be cumbersome and intrusive. That has turned out to not be the case at all. When gripping the phone normally (either one handed or two handed) never did it get in the way or did my fingers keep hitting it. When laying the phone flat (with no case) there's no wobble despite the protrusion. You'd really have to push down on the top of the phone to experience some wobble.
I find the dimensions of the google pixel 6 to be perfect for one handed use. While the pixel pro has some minor upgrades over the standard pixel 6, I feel as though it borders being "too large" for my one handed use. In terms of bezels I was surprised that I didnt miss the curved bezels from my previous note android device. While this phone doesn't have the thinnest bezels, it's still one of the sleekest looking phones on the market. I also love that Google stuck with the small circular camera cut out and didn't go with a distracting notch! The one thing I would change in terms of design would be the placement of the volume rocker. I wish it was either on the left side or that it would have been moved further down on the right side to make it more central. I watch all of my content in landscape mode so having it more centrally located would have been a bit more convenient.
Performance/User Experience:
---------------------------
This is the most fluid and snappy experience that I've ever used on any phone. Applications instantly open, load, and close. I can leave several apps running in the background while playing a game, listening to music, watching streaming content, downloading large files, etc. Not once during daily use have I noticed even a minor hiccup. To test the phone I left several apps running in the backgroundc and played the very well known genshin impact android game as well as some warhammer and the experience was flawless. I've owned nothing but flagship Android phones this past decade and I'm convinced that the reason why the pixel 6 provides such a buttery smooth experience on android is due to to the combination of google's new tensor chip and the close to stock vanilla Android UI. Even though I knew the tensor chip was not going to outperform the top of the line qualcomm processors on raw numbers alone, I still benchmarked my pixel 6 out of curiosity. It still received pretty impressive numbers on geekbench 5. It received a single-core score of 1032 and a multi-core score of 2744. More than adequate to run all the latest and future applications.
Camera:
---------------------------
The camera sensors on this phone are a feat of engineering! The 50 megapixel main sensor and 12 megapixel ultrawide sensor takes stunning photos. When in camera mode, you have instant options to alter color and shadow. I've found myself using this feature a lot as it makes photos with dull colors come alive! The slight disappointment here is that we don't get the new coveted 4x telephoto zoom that's featured on the pro model. This means that we don't get any optical zoom and instead we're stuck with Google's "Super Res" 7x digital zoom. I've tested the digital zoom and it's not terrible but it won't compare to an optical lens. Some of my favorite camera features are the "Magic Eraser" and "Night Sight". Both are extremely impressive features. Magic eraser is similar to the magic eraser tool in photoshop. It does a fantastic job of removing people or objects that you don't want in the photo (so long as they're not the main focal points of attraction in the image). The night sight feature is a game changer for taking pictures at night. Please see the two images I have attached. There is very little ambient lighting in the room that the picture was taken in. The same object was taken with the same lighting conditions without flash. It's as if someone turned on the light when taken with the night sight feature! The whole camera ecosystem has been designed with convience in mind too. Google photos makes it incredibly easy to instantly edit, share, and upload all your content.
Features:
---------------------------
This is the part of the Pixel 6 that extremely impresses me. There's sooo many great features to list so I'll just name a few of my favorites. 5G speeds are ridiculously fast! When connected to 5G, I typically average 250+ Mbps down and 60 + Mbps up (see screenshot). One of my absolute favorite features on the pixel 6 is the automatic ability to screen calls. The amount of robocalls I receive has greatly increased within the last couple of years. If the pixel detects that either a phone call or a text message is from an unknown caller, it'll automatically decline the call without interupting you (it'll never decline anyone in your contact list). You can also set it so that the google assistant automatically answers unknown calls. The assistant politely asks the caller a couple of basic questions to make sure it's not a robocall, a faked number, or a potential scam. The transcript of the brief conversation appears on your phone so you know if it's legit.
Display:
---------------------------
While the standard Pixel 6 doesn't share the same quad hd resolution (1440p) and pixel density as it's bigger brother, the 1080p HDR capable display on the pixel 6 is still impressive. Also, I'd argue that at this six inch screen size, you're really not missing much with 1440p over 1080p. The 6.4 inch OLED display produces an impressive color accurate picture. It produces some rich reds, lush greens, vibrant purples, all while not over saturating the image. I also love the deep blacks that this display produces! The adaptive 90hz refresh rate makes a world of a difference coming from a 60hz display. Swiping through the UI, switching between apps, browsing through content on a browser, etc has attributed to the smoothest performance I've ever experienced on a phone. The pixel 6 doesn't have the brightest screen but it's certainly more than adequate. With the manual slider you get 500 nits of maximum brightness and about 850+ when set to adaptive. On a sunny day, I found myself having to turn up the brightness slider to at least 80 percent to get good visibility while being outdoors. I do wish it provided closer to 1000 nits of maximum peak brightness for optimum visiblity on these occasional situations but it's a minor gripe.
Audio:
---------------------------
Without a doubt, the most impressive stereo audio I've heard on any phone. This thing gets loud! The audio is produced by a bottom firing speaker and the earpiece. The listening experience has been decent enough to where I've found myself, on multiple occassions, not bothering to get up to turn on my bluetooth home audio speaker. At full volume, there's no distortion and music sounds crisp. However, as a fan of a wired music listening experience, the one thing I wish was included was a standard headphone jack.
Battery Life:
---------------------------
In terms of phone use, at the end of a standard work day, I easily still have over 30% battery left. On most days, I've had over 40% without ever charging it once throughout the day. This is thanks to the beefy 4600 mAh battery on the pixel 6. This phone should be able to easily get you through a full workday with a similar workload as I've just described. You also get 50% charge in 30 minutes if you're using a 30 watt charger.
Overall, I've been very impressed with the pixel 6, especially at the price segment it comes in at. While the pixel 6 may not officially be considered a flagship phone compared to the pro model, I feel that it still retains enough flagship features to still be considered worthy of the flagship title. For all the flagship features that you get at this competitive price point, this is an easy recommendation!

Great Sound, Very Good Build Quality
on October 13, 2021
Posted by: k1zit
from Los Angeles
These earbuds took some trial and error with the different ear tip sizes that were included for me to find the incredible sound I was missing the entire time. I almost gave this product a 3 star review. I've been working out with these earbuds a lot. I do a lot of rowing, running, weightlifting, and jump roping. Up until recently, I wasn't impressed with the sound. It was a shame because I was very impressed with the build quality and absolutely loved the case and earbud design. I also love that they stay put and don't fall out regardless of the exercise I'm doing. I consider myself to have average sized ears and have always used the medium sized earbuds that come pre-installed by most manufacturers earbuds to get the best seal/sound. So when I received these earbuds, naturally I did just that. The sound signature sounded somewhat tinny and most disappointingly, the bass was almost non-existent. Downloading the soundcore app and messing with the equalizer didnt seem to help that much. As a last ditch effort I decided to try different ear tip sizes to see if anything would change (I kept the ear wings the same as they seemed to lock into place very well and fit comfortable). I went with the next size up in ear tips. Presto!! The difference was night and day.
I must have not been getting a good enough seal with the medium sized earbuds likely causing a significant amount of sound leakage. If you find your bass to be lacking or the sound signature to be tinny, try different earbud sizes to ensure you're getting the proper seal and fit. It completely changed the sound signature for me. Very crisp mids and highs and very punchy and tight bass. The genres I listen to are Techno, Electronic, Dance, Hip Hop, and Metal. They all sounded great. These buds are not going to replace a pair of high end over the hear headphones but for the price segment they come in at, they punch way above their weight. Easily one of the best wireless earbuds I've heard. I am a big fan of the compact pill shaped case. It feels like very high quality matted plastic. The charging case provides about 30 hours of listening and the earbuds alone provide about 10. The earbuds are light and feel high quality as well. The seal that you get from these are incredible. They're also sweatproof. These are a runner's or a rower's dream. The soundcore app was a worthwhile download for me. Very lightweight application that allows you to use a very functional EQ and set EQ profiles depending on the music you listen to. I have a Techno, Hip Hop, and Metal profile and I love that I can switch between them on the fly. Anker also gives you a ton of interchangeable ear tips and ear wings. I've always been a fan of Anker's battery and USB peripherals, and now I'm a fan of their audio products!

Get the benefits of cold therapy without the hassle. The detachable stainless steel head holds the cold for up to 2 hours, and rolling it over your face, neck, and décolletage will help to improve blood circulation, de-puff and reduce swelling, soothe redness and irritation, brighten under-eye circles, tighten the jawline, and help to minimize the appearance of large pores.

Decent Roller for Sore Muscles but a Major Flaw
on October 7, 2021

I've had a mixed experience with this face & body roller. On one hand, I like that it does a decent job of maintaining a cold temperature so that you may use this a cold therapy roller over sore muscles and aches. However, I'm not sure if it's just my unit but there's a really annoying intermittent screeching sound when I roll it back and forth sometimes. Poor quality bearings perhaps? I've also been using it on my face in the mornings over the past week and haven't noticed a difference or felt a difference. This roller did come in handy when rolling it over some muscle aches that I had. The coldness felt pretty good but the screeching sound would make it's presence known from time to time. If it wasn't such a high pitched screech, it might be more tolerable. Overall, I think this is decent product to keep around the house that you can quickly grab from the freezer and apply some cold therapy to muscle aches and soreness. However, I can't personally attest to the skin tightening and shrinking/de-puffing under the eye bags claims as it didnt seem to make a difference for me.

A High Tech Pillow That Delivers A Great Sleep!
on October 7, 2021
Posted by: k1zit
from Los Angeles
After having used this pillow over the last several days, I'm convinced that this pillow delivers some seriously good quality of sleep. For reference I'm a 5'9 male that weighs about 185lbs. I wear a size large T-shirt. According to Bedgear's "find your fit" chart, they recommend the Cosmo 2.0 for someone of my size that sleeps on their back or on their side. However, for people of my size that sleep on their stomach they recommend the 1.0. As someone who alternates between their stomach and their back, I was a bit torn between trying the 1.0 or 2.0. I feared the 1.0 might be to small for me. However, since I typically find lower profile pillows a bit more comfortable for my spine, I decided to try the 1.0 and I'm so glad I did! This is one of the most comfortable pillows I've ever laid my head on.
What I loved the most about this pillow is that one side is firmer and the other side is noticeably softer. You can simply flip it over depending on what you want. The pillow comes with an incredibly comfortable and silky smooth "ver-tex" cooling cover which is supposed to provide an instant cooling sensation. I can attest that the pillow does do a significantly better job of staying cool over your traditional down, cotton blend, or traditional memory foam pillow. This also seems to have been made possible thanks to the air vents and air mesh panels along the sides of the cover. This cover is also hypoallergenic and antimicrobial. This is a true removable and washable cover that will last for years. It feels extremely durable and high quality. The first night I laid my head on the pillow, I instantly knew I would love this pillow. It feels weightless, silky smooth, and stays cool. I had a full uninterrupted restful sleep that night as I've also had every following night. I've woken up feeling completely refreshed in the mornings. Is this due all thanks to the pillow? Likely not as so many other factors like the mattress you sleep on, your mental/physical fatigue, diet, etc. will all influence your quality of sleep. However, a quality pillow can be a significant contributor and I think this pillow could certainly help improve your sleep quality.
So I've found this Cosmo 1.0 pillow to be one of the most comfortable pillows I've ever tried that has also contributed to good quality sleep, why did I knock off a star? Well, to be entirely honest, I've been using a good quality gel infused memory foam pillow for about the past year. When I first got this pillow, the improvement of my quality of sleep was immediately noticeable. I was coming from an old twenty dollar cotton blend/down alternative pillow. No more neck kinks, no waking up, no more feeling like my head was sinking all the way into the pillow, etc. Receiving the proper support was a game changer. However, going from my current gel infused memory foam pillow which cost about less than half of this pillow, I don't know if I feel much of an upgrade. The Bedgear Cosmo 1.0 pillow seems to feel just as cool and just as comfortable as my current gel infused foam pillow and has provided about the same quality of sleep. The Cosmo 1.0 does get some extra points though for the superior removable cover and the dual sided comfort feature. Another reason for knocking off a star is that Bedgear recommends replacing the pillow every 12 to 18 months. Due to the pricey bracket this pillow comes in at, some may find it difficult to continue purchasing the same pillow every year or so. The only other minor gripe I had is the factory smell when you first receive it. Upon opening it, there was a very prominent factory smell. It wasn't necessarily a bad odor, just a very synthetic smell. That was quickly remedied by throwing the removable cover in the wash cycle!
Despite some of the minor shortcomings I previously mentioned, I can confidently recommend this pillow to those that want zero compromises and want to know that they're getting the latest tech & the most premium materials in their pillow. For those looking for the best of the best, the Cosmo pillow is certainly worth trying!

Excellent Camera for Content Creators & Beginners
on October 6, 2021
Posted by: k1zit
from Los Angeles
I've been really impressed with how easy it is to use this Sony ZV-E10 for content recording. The camera is also relatively small and lightweight which has made it extremely practical for on the go content. While I've mainly used the camera to record in various lighting conditions and locations, pictures are also absolutely stunning! I'm by no means a professional photographer (but want better quality footage than what a smartphone can produce) so I really appreciate a lot of the features that Sony packed into this camera in order to automatically optimize my recorded content and pictures without having to make a lot of complicated adjustments. I also love the idea of having interchangeable lens on a compact vlog camera. As I get more serious about sharing my hobbies on content media platforms, I really appreciate that I have a wide option of image capture capabilities while at the same time getting professional grade image quality without having to go for a much more serious camera. I've listed some of the pros and cons below that I encountered while using this camera indoors and outdoors in various lighting conditions.
===============================
PROS:
+1080p 120fps or 4k 30fps recording
+Interchangeable lens
+Decent three capsule onboard microphone (included wind muff seems to actually help with mitigating wind noise)
+Incredibly fast auto focus! I cannot stress how good it is
+Dedicated button for background defocus (quickly blurs background to focus on subject)
+Dedicated button for product showcase (extremely convenient if youre recording yourself showcasing a product. It will automatically shift the focus from your face to the object you're showcasing)
+Fully articulated flip out screen for when youre vlogging
+Big red border on the screen AND a tally light to immediately let me know when I'm recording
+Jack for external microphone
+USB-C + USB streaming mode makes this a great livestream cam and a much better option than traditional streaming webcams
+Micro HDMI output to connect to a TV or external display
+Headphone jack to monitor audio
+Intelligent Auto (scene recognition) did a great job of brightening up my face when going from brighter lighting conditions to lower lighting conditions
+Ability to quickly transfer videos and pictures from the camera to my phone or tablet with Sony's Imaging Edge Mobile App
+The help guide on Sony's site for this camera is extremely useful and simple
+Easy to navigate on screen menu
===============================
CONS:
-No electronic viewfinder
-No weather sealing
- Respectable battery life but a little on the shorter side (I got a little over 2 hours when recording...although this isn't a problem indoors if you keep it plugged in and charging with a USB-C cable or if you carry a battery bank with you on the go)
-Active stabilization ON results in a significant crop (I found a good solution for this was to record my videos with stabilization off and then render my videos through Sony's free catalyst browse software to stabilize my videos there instead. This resulted in the smooth footage I wanted without the crop!)
- No 4k 60 recording
Overall, I think this camera is perfectly suited for social media content creators, product unboxing/review videos, tutorial videos, streamers, and on the go vloggers who want serious image quality but don't have an extensive background with photography equipment and settings. I also think the Sony vlogger accessory kit for this camera is a must and I can't recommend it enough. Incredibly convenient wireless grip with quick access buttons for on the go and also converts to a small stable tripod. If you're someone looking for a new camera that records great videos and takes some good stills but don't want to break the bank, definitely give this one a shot!

The ONE Webcam to Rule Them All
on August 24, 2021
Posted by: k1zit
from Los Angeles
It's about time that Elgato came out with a proper webcam. Being in the entertainment & tech industry over the years, I've had to use several webcams in this price range. None have performed as well as the Elgato Facecam. Upon immediately taking this out of the box, I was surprised at the massive lens affixed to the front of the camera as compared to previous webcams I've used. Streaming and recording with the Facecam over the last few days, I have been very impressed particularly by the image quality, accurate skin tone depiction, accurate color reproduction, smooth 60 fps, and the truly amazing camerahub software that Elgato has created for this webcam.
I love the wide angle 83.2 degree view of this camera! I was missing out. I didn't realize how much more environment it allows me to capture. This is a fixed focus camera with about a 12 inch focus distance (no auto focus) which allows the entire field of view to be in focus. I personally prefer this over having to manually zoom or deal with auto focus issues on auto focus webcams. However, the drawback to fixed focus is that if you want to zoom to a smaller field of view, the image is going to be digitally enlarged which won't look too good at 1080p (anything over 1.5x and it starts to get messy). This is something I rarely ever do so it's not an issue for me. I also noticed that the background of my environment was also constantly in focus which is something I rarely get when using webcams with auto focus (background usually blurs). This is a huge key feature that I've loved about this cam.
In my opinion, the Elgato camerahub software is also what really separates this webcam from it's competition. It already has great default settings out of the box, but depending on your lighting and setup, their software gives you some granularity that you won't get with other webcams. I love that Elgato setup a proper shutter speed and ISO section when in manual mode. This allowed me to adjust the shutter speed depending on how much light I already had coming into my environment. Why is this important? This both affects your frame rate and how much light the camera will let in. The lower the shutter speed, the more light is let in. Conversely, the higher the shutter speed, the smoother your frame rate (1/64 or faster guarantees smooth 60 fps video). This is something I've never been able to adjust on other webcams. Usually I was stuck with just adjusting gain or brightness sliders. When streaming, I did notice that while the automatic exposure setting is great on this webcam, setting the exposure to manual with a shutter speed of 1/125s resulted in a slightly smoother 60fps experience without any type of ghosting or motion blur. The Camerahub software also gives you a ton of other adjustments like Zoom/FOV, contrast, saturation, sharpness, metering, white balance, noise reducton, and anti-flicker.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Below, I've compiled my favorite highlights of this webcam and why I think it's the best webcam for streaming/content creation in this price range. I've also listed a couple of minor cons.
+Video transmitted is YUV uncompressed which means it has no compression artifacts, it's low latency, and it uses minimal cpu resources
+Accurate skin tone depiction and great color reproduction
+ Flawless focus when streaming; background remains focused
+True smooth 60fps
+The granularity I got with the Camerahub software is something I didn't get with other webcams (love the manual shutter and ISO settings!)
+You can remove the camera from the included mount and install it on a universal tripod mount; camera can tilt and swivel
+Includes detachable 6.5ft USB-C Cable; the fact it's detachable allows you to use even longer USB-C cables if your particular setup demands it
+Built in flash memory to save settings directly to the camera!!
+Default out of the box settings produce a great image

Minor Gripes:
-Was not too impressed with white balance. There is a slider for color temperature but no slider for tint. While the auto white balance does perform well overall, it would have been nice to be able to adjust the color tint.
-No multi app support currently (camera can only be accessed by one program at a time)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall, I am extremely impressed and satisfied with the Elgato facecam for streaming and fixed focus content creation (such as using it as a product unboxing cam). It's the best webcam I've used to date. For the streamer or content creator that prioritizes ease of use, convenience, and value, these are some of the best results you can expect out of a webcam.

Wake up to a delicious cup of java with this Ninja Coffee Bar glass carafe system. The 10-cup pitcher holds 50 oz. of coffee when entertaining or brews a single cup at a time, prepared at the infusion level of your choice. This Ninja Coffee Bar glass carafe system has a built-in frother for hot and cold drink creations.

Has the new Ninja remedied the steaming issues(ruined peoples cupboards) with the past model?

Hi Karen, I have not experienced any steaming issues with this model. In fact, there isnt' much steam dispelled when the coffee is brewed. I was surprised since everybody was talking about how bad the previous model steamed when making coffee.

I have a 1400 sq ft home and an RV parked on the side. My current Router plus an add on won't do it for the RV. Will this cover the home and the RV?

I believe it could as I had no problem with coverage in an 1800 square foot home. However, it could also largely depend on how noisy the wireless spectrum in that area is.
