Revolutionary!

This is my first Dyson vacuum. I used to think that the higher premium that Dyson charges for their appliances was all hype. I wish I would have tried one sooner. I love many things about this vacuum and there are very few things that I don't like about it. But the three things that were game changers for me is how light weight the vacuum is, it's cordless, and it's bagless. The aluminum construction allows for the lightweight construction. Albeit light, the vacuum does exude quality and feels solid. By far this is the best experience I have ever had vacuuming. I never had to exert a lot of force or pressure to move the V7 vacuum. Hands down lighter than our current Shark vacuum (or any other vacuum that we've used for that matter).
The fact that it's cordless means that I no longer have to unplug a cord from the outlet every time I need to vacuum another room or if I exceed the cord's length. Amazing!!! Because it's cordless, it does need to be charged with the included charger. I was able to reach a full charge in a couple of hours.
So much engineering went into this appliance. As mentioned earlier, the vacuum is bagless. To dispose of debris, you simply disconnect the upper portion of the handle, hold it over a trash can, and pull the small red latch to empty it out. Incredibly easy and quite ingenius.
For a "stick" type of vacuum, the motor was surprisingly powerful. I do have to note that I use it on the "Max" setting. The lower setting felt a bit lacking. It had no problem picking up debris and I felt like I never had to go over the same section twice. It left my carpet looking spotless. Impressed!
Now, the only two things were minor gripes for me was the color offering and that you have to constantly hold down the trigger button when vacuuming. The color fuchsia is probably fine for most females but it would be nice to see offerings with more neutral colors for male owners that may not have female counterparts in their households. As far as holding down the trigger button, it really is nitpicking. While it's incredibly light and I never noticed any fatigue by holding it down during vacuuming, it would have been nice to see some sort of "auto-on" feature so that I don't have to constantly hold down the trigger. All in all, those are minor annoyances that are easily outweighed by the pros. In a nutshell, this is a cordless, bagless, incredibly lightweight "stick vacuum" with a powerful motor. What's not to love?!?

Amazing!

Great Workout Headphones!

Overall these are great headphones. The design and features are primarily catered to the average athlete but they are also great for casual use around the office or home when viewing media. I did have an issue with the first pair of headphones that I received but JBL handled it with prompt resolve. I'll talk about that at the end of the review.
In terms of sound quality, the lows, mids, and highs are crisp. Do not expect deep bass with these headphones. As a result, I would say that the dance genre wouldn't be a listening strong point on these headphones. I personally prefer a little more bass for dance and hip hop. The good thing though is that you won't ever run into the problem of muddy bass overpowering the vocals or mids. The sound is very well balanced and overall produces respectable sound quality.
One thing I wasn't too keen on was the design of how these headphones go over your ear. There's a bit of a learning curve in getting these headphones to stay in your ear. You have to essentially "twist lock" them into place so they don't fall out. Once you get used to putting them on this way you shouldn't have a problem. I presume that JBL went this route to ensure a tight fit for the active athlete. I do like that JBL included multiple ear bud sizes for the best fit. I worked out with these headphones multiple times and took them on several runs and they never fell out of my ears. Thumbs up JBL!
The pairing process and setup was extremely easy. I paired the headphones to my phone then downloaded the UA record app. The UA record app is basically a dashboard of statistical information for your daily goals and progress. This is useful for the more serious athlete. The hear rate sensor worked flawlessly for me. You simply launch the UA record app, select "Sync" and choose your headphones. This turns on the hear rate sensor on. During my work outs I simply tapped the right earbud and the headphones told me my heart's bpm. The only thing that I didn't like was that you have to use the UA record app in order to get heart rate sensor readings. Not a big deal but would have been nice to include this as a built-in feature into the headphone's internal software.
As mentioned in the beginning of my review, out of the box I did have an issue with the first pair of headphones that I received. The right ear bud had a blown driver. Upon operation, the audio and bass was completely distorted only out of the right ear bud. I contacted JBL and they immediately handled the issue replacing the earbud with overnight shipping. I was blown away with how fast they resolved the issue. The second set of headphones did not have this issue. Rest assured that if you have any issues with your headphones JBL seems to be pretty quick with taking care of their customers.
I have absolutely enjoyed these headphones for my workouts and casual use around the office. My sweat on the headphones has not been an issue either. They have good sound quality and I can rest assured that they will easily handle some of my most rigorous and enduring workouts.

I Really Wanted to Love It...

In a nutshell, if you can get this product to work with multiple nodes, I suspect that it's a great whole home wi-fi mesh product. Unfortunately for me, I could not get either of the two additional nodes to pair with the the node in the living room or with each other. I spent hours troubleshooting to no avail. The first node (in the living room) got connected to my ISP's gateway instantly with no issues. I was browsing the internet in no time and had no trouble setting it up with the linksys app. The speed was fast and my streamed media ran flawlessly with no buffering. However, the other 2 nodes which where in 2 separate bedrooms would simply not pair with each other. These two nodes were only about 10-15 feet away from the node in the living room. I performed countless factory resets, I tried pairing on the linksys app multiple times by using the "+ Set up a new product" option as instructed, made sure to pair each node one at a time , and I even disconnected the additional nodes and literally placed them next to the node in the living room and they would still not connect. I kept getting the "..you're node is off the map! Unplug your node and move it much closer to another, reduce the amount of heavy obstacles in between, or just try again." Umm, the nodes are literally side by side! It was interesting because I would eventually get to the end of the pairing process in the form of a "now, we're talking" message but after I hit "next", and it attempts to finalize the pairing process, I receive the dreaded "you're node is off the map!" message almost instantly. Again, even when they're right next to each other. If I tried selecting "Try Again" at that point, I would get the "Checking your node's location" progress bar. Out of the several times I got to this point, the bar would not get past half way. It says to wait a few minutes. I waited hours. I even let it sit overnight once only to find the bar still stuck in the middle of the progress bar the next morning. I rinsed and repeated and no success. I would start from scratch and start with the one working node in the living room. I would factory reset it. Then connect a second one. I could never get the 2nd one to pair. Regardless of which node I used for the 2nd node and regardless of distance. I think what made the setup a little more frustrating is that there is no 192.168.1.1/192.168.0.1 administrator router GUI that you can access to manually configure each node. You can only use the linksys app on your mobile device to configure and administer your network. I do understand why LInksys did this as this product is intended for the average user demanding simplicity and not so much for your typical power/speed hungry user that demands 8 ethernet ports and things like VTP trunking features and static route configurations. However, I would much rather have something I may not need, than to not have it and need it. Especially for troubleshooting journeys such as this one. Maybe in a future firmware release linksys can add a router admin GUI.
Please do note that my experience with this product seems to be isolated as most of the reviews I've read seem to be positive. Maybe I received a bad unit. And if this is not the case, maybe there's a bug with the firmware or possibly a software issue with the linksys app on the Android platform that I may have encountered. In any case, as top notch as the build quality is on this product, as much as I loved how well packaged it was by linksys , how they even thought about designing each node with a rear-facing contoured cable management section to neatly run your ethernet cables, the speedy performance from the single node that I was able to get to work, I unfortunately cannot in good faith give this product more than three 3 stars due to not being able to use the product as intended. I've spent days trying to get these nodes to talk to each other and by today's standards, it should not be this difficult nor should one have to devote this much time troubleshooting to get devices to talk to one another. I do hope that linksys gets this sorted out because it seems like a very promising product otherwise.

Be Your Own Barista!!

I've been using the Ninja Coffee Bar for a little over 2 weeks now and it has brewed some of the best coffee I've ever had. As someone who works the overnight shift and drinks a lot of coffee, this machine has yet to disappoint me. When using fresh ground coffee, the coffee brewed by this machine is smooth with no bitter after taste. This is without adding milk, sugar, or sweeteners. Just plain black coffee tastes great! However, specialty drinks is where this machine shines. Being an iced vanilla latte addict, I have become a regular at Starbucks. I was very curious to see if I could concoct a worthy iced vanilla latte with the Ninja Coffee Bar. The answer? Yes!! Get yourself some Torani vanilla syrup, some ice, some of your favorite ground coffee, and you are in for a treat! My iced vanilla lattes were as good, if not better, than what I've grown accustomed to at Starbucks.
Some of the features that I found to be very convenient and useful with this coffee bar is the flexibility to either use a 10 cup carafe or use the single serve pull-down platform. I also loved that Ninja chose to go with a glass carafe! From my personal experience, stainless steel has had a tendency of affecting the taste of my coffee. By using glass, I can also see how much coffee is left in the carafe.
I really like how simple the machine is to use and operate. You simply select your serving size with the adjustable turn knob, put your ground coffee in the filter, and select "Classic" brew for standard coffee, "Rich"brew for richer espresso style drinks, or "over ice brew" for cold drinks and that's it! A really nice addition was the labeled and premeasured scoop included with the coffee bar. Depending on the servize size you want, the scoops are already measured for you. You simply put the coffee in the included permanent mesh filter. You also have the option of using a paper cone style filter instead for easier cleanup.
The attached milk frother is also a great addition to this Ninja coffee bar system. I love that, unlike other coffee bar solutions, you don't have to power the milk frother individually. Nor is it a separate component. The milk frother is attached to the machine and neatly tucks away behind the machine when not in use. It whisks some of the frothiest milk! Another great bonus was the the coffeehouse style recipe book included with the machine which has recipes for 20 drinks. I have made some of the best caramel macchiatos using Ghirardelli caramel syrup.
Lastly, I just wanted to talk about the cleanup feature. Upon initial setup, plan to set aside at least 2 hours before you brew your first cup of coffee. This is due to each cleaning cycle taking about an hour and Ninja recommending 2 full cleaning cycles before brewing coffee.I do love that this coffee bar alerts you when the machine is "dirty" and needs a clean cycle. I also love that the cleanup cycle is not burdensome and complicated. Once the "clean" button lights up indicating the machine needs a clean cycle, simply fill the water reservoir with clean water to the max fill line, place the carafe in place, and press the "clean" button. After some time, the machine will beep as part of the "flush" stage in the clean cycle. You will want to wash the reservoir, fill it with water again, place the carafe in place, and press the "clean" button again. And that's it! As previously mentioned, this whole process takes about an hour so make sure you have time set aside for it. I know it's lengthy but I feel it's a small trade off to ensure that the machine is as clean as possible.
For the price at which this product sells, it will be really difficult to find a similar machine that houses this many features and brews such a high quality cup of coffee.I know this sounds kind of silly but owning this machine not only piqued my interest in making and tasting all kinds of new coffehouse style drinks, it also got me to take coffee a little bit more seriously. I can see how some people consider coffee making an art! Now that I've had some time to test the Ninja Coffee Bar system, I am also looking at coffee grinders and french presses so that I can grind my own coffee beans (since this is a podless machine). The Ninja Coffee Bar has truly upped my coffee game!!!

The best brush heads!

I absolutely love these brush heads and they have become my new personal favorite. The surface area of the brush head is larger than the intercare brush heads and they are much more flexible due to the new design. This new design incorporates what feels like rubber applications on the rear or the brush heads. I feel like I have better control when brushing in the harder to reach areas of my mouth. The larger surface area is a very welcome addition allowing me to cover a larger "cleaning zone" than before.

Philips Most Innovative Electric Toothbrush Yet!

This product couldn't have come at a better time. My previous Philips Sonicare DiamondClean toothbrush finally failed on me after 4.5 years. As a result, I've been using a manual toothbrush for the last few months so I couldn't have been more excited to try out this new electric toothbrush by Philips.
First of all, let me start off by saying that if you've never owned a Sonicare product or used an electric toothbrush in your life, you are doing your oral health a disservice. There is a reason why practically any dentist office you visit will recommend a Philips Sonicare as their "go-to" toothbrush. The first time you brush with a Sonicare, you'll feel like you just got a cleaning at the dentist. The difference is that significant. Too add to this, I recently visited the dentist after 7 years of not going. Yeah, I know, I can't believe it myself. I was very surprised that I was told that I had no cavities. I can't say for sure that it's solely because I've been using nothing but Sonicare brushes for the last 7 years but I strongly believe that it's a significant contributing factor. Anyway, onto the review! I will be breaking down this review into the following categories: construction/design, features, and accessories.
Construction/Design:
As always Philips never skimps on the quality of the construction that goes into making their toothbrushes. This Sonicare Flexcare Platinum feels very solid in the hand. It has a very ergonomic design with a rubber application on the back of the handle to help with grip when it's wet. The power button has a quality brushed aluminum feel, although I do believe it's plastic. The up and down sensitivity buttons, as well as the cleaning mode button, feel hefty and sturdy. Lovin' it!

I love that the brush allows you to set your sensitivity level. Coming from brushing with a manual toothbrush for the last few months, the highest setting was a little too strong for my teeth and gums. The medium setting was perfect! After several brushing sessions I have moved up to the highest setting. I would like to note that all of Philips Sonicare tests and claims were tested on the highest setting according to the included material that came with the toothbrush.
The toothbrush has cleaning mode (standard), whitening, and deep clean. I have tried all three and there is definitely a difference in the brushing experience. Whether it will truly accomplish those goals remains to be seen. I love that Philips included a pressure sensor in this brush. According to my dentist, almost everyone brushes too hard. We do it subconsciously because it feels as if we're getting a deeper clean. Another new (at least to me) and innovative feature by Philips. Huge kudos!
When brushing, the toothbrush breaks up the brushing locations in your mouth into 6 sections. You can either use the app to get a visual representation or you can wait for the little vibration alerts in the brush to tell you when it's time to move onto the next section. Personally, I preferred the way my previous Sonicare Diamond Clean broke up the mouth into 4 sections. It's simple and straightforward. I understand why Philips broke it up into 6 sections. It's more concentrated and focused resulting in a deeper clean. While that may be true, I find myself thinking too much while I brush and sometimes even rushing a little to make sure I make the next section in time. It would have been nice for Philips to have given the user the option of 4 sections or 6 for those of us that got used to their older products. Overall, this is a small gripe but when you're using this product everyday, twice a day, it can become somewhat of an annoyance.
Accessories:
The Philips Sonicare Flexcare Platinum comes with two different brush heads, a charging base, an add-on which attaches to the base to house your brush heads, and a plastic travel case. Quite frankly, I was more impressed with the accessories that came with my previous Diamond Clean. For around the same price point, the Diamond Clean came with a glass cup that you place on top of the charging base. You simply drop the brush in the glass cup and now you have something to use when you rinse your mouth. The Diamond Clean also came with a really nice nylon textured travel case that you were able to charge so you didn't have to take the charging base with you. I also wished that Philips would have included the UV sanitizer with this model. They do, however, include it in the HX9192/02 model for 20 dollars more. It's the exact same product as this except it comes with the UV sanitizer.

The Complete Grooming Package!

This is one of those products that you don't have many expectations for but you end up being pleasantly surprised. This little product comes with everything you need to groom your facial and body hair. As someone who regularly trims their chest, sideburns, groin area, underarms, and facial hair, I put this new Philips trimmer to the test. Wow. Very surprised at how smooth and fast this thing trims hair. I love the adjustable hair clipping comb that allows you to choose how much hair you want to clip. This was particularly useful for my sideburns. I also found the "Turbo boost" button to be useful when trimming more dense areas such as the groin region. The fact that it's shower proof is a huge bonus. No more standing over the toilet when trimming! The nose trimmer was a pleasant addition to this multi-grooming kit. It trims my nose hairs better than my current nose hair trimmer which has been highly reviewed for years. I will be using the Philips nose hair trimmer now instead.
Big kudos to Philips for also including a leather pouch. The size is perfect too as it allows you to keep everything together including the charger. The build quality of the trimmer seems pretty decent. The handle is an all plastic construction but it does feel very solid and sturdy in the hand. The one thing that I do wish Philips would have included is a small brush to clean the hairs off the grooming head. Luckily, I received one with my old trimmer that I can continue to use. Philips did, however, include a small bottle of lubrication for regular maintenance.
Bottom line? This trimmer is leagues ahead of the 40 dollar trimmer that I've been using for years. It trims and clips effortlessly and I never felt like any hair was being pulled; a feeling that I was ever so familiar with on my old trimmer. I had been missing out. Do your body a favor and get one of these ASAP!

Best Android Experience on a Flagship Device

I have owned several Android devices by practically all the major companies but this is the first device I've used that is running the stock version of Android. Man, have I been missing out. I've been used to OEM interfaces like "Sense UI" and "TouchWiz". However, I have never had the pleasure of experiencing how buttery smooth and snappy Android can really be without all the bloatware and overlay skins. The Google Pixel XL, in my opinion, provides the best Android experience on any current Android device. Apps open instantaneously, multi-tasking has never been so seamless and fast, and finding apps, in an otherwise cluttered environment, has never been so easy. Also, this is the only device at the moment that is shipping with Android Nougat 7.1. I am loving the in-app feature which allows me to long press and app to receive a menu pop up for that app. I also love the new app search feature which made it incredibly easy to find an app. This was especially useful for me as I am a heavy power user.
The camera on the Pixel is easily the best I've used on a mobile device. Up until I owned the Pixel, I was an ardent advocate of the cameras found on Samsung's flagship devices. The image quality, deep blacks, color saturation, and sharpness simply couldn't be matched...at least up until now. After comparing several pictures and testing in similar environments, the Pixel is the clear winner. It doesn't come as a surprise that the Pixel has received the highest DxOmark score ever on a smartphone camera. HD video quality was on par with other flagship devices I've used. While there is no optical image stabilization, the camera's gyroscopic image stabilization did a good enough job keeping footage free from jerking and shaking.
For a flagship deivce, my two initial major concerns was the lack of a removable battery and an expandable SD slot. However, due the battery easily lasting me all day with moderate to heavy use AND with unlimited storage offered for FREE on Google's cloud, these were viable enough reasons to not dock it a star.
A very important aspect of this product, if not the most important aspect, is the display. The Pixel XL is no slouch here. With a Quad HD resolution and an AMOLED display, we finally have a viable alternative to the one display we Android users have all come to love; Samsung flagship displays. There I said it. It's no secret that until now Samsung has the most vibrant colors, deepest blacks, and highest contrasts due to their AMOLED displays. It is so refreshing to finally see another manufacturer using AMOLED in their displays versus the common LCD IPS displays we tend to get. WIth all that said though, I compared the Google Pixel XL display to a Note 5 display quite thoroughly and there was still a noticeable difference to me. Regardless of brightness settings, the Note 5 display always seems to produce slightly more vivid colors while the Google Pixel XL seems to slightly opt for more accurate color reproduction. Of course this will come down to preference but both displays are arguably the best in the market.
Construction and build quality is top notch. The phone has an all aluminum housing with beautiful chamfered edges. However, the upper-rear portion of the phone has a glass slab which was an interesting design choice but I would have preferred either all metal or an all glass back solely for aesthetic purposes. In any case, the fingerprint sensor is located in the glass slab and I must say...it works flawlessly and it's fast!
I thought I would hate the sound quality due to only one speaker being present on the bottom of the phone but I was pleasantly surprised. While there isn't much to write home about, the single speaker was relatively loud and I never detected any type of distortion even at it's loudest volume setting.However, compared to other Android devices with either stereo speakers or a front facing speaker, the Google Pixel XL's single speaker does sound a bit "tinny". It would have been nice to at least get stereo speakers but the single speaker gets the job done.
Overall, this is the best Android experience I've had on a device simply because the bare bones user interface of stock Android is so smooth, fast, and minimalistic. Using the Google Pixel XL for everyday use so far has been a pleasure. Not a single stutter, crash, or hang. This is the way Android was meant to be experienced. Also, it's reassuring knowing that you'll be the first to get Android updates since this is a product directly supported from Google. Of course the other features like the amazing AMOLED display, stunning camera, free unlimited cloud storage, and level of software customizability, make this an easy choice for a user seeking a high-end flagship Android product.

Expansive Wi-Fi Coverage!

I'll be honest. I was not expecting much from this product. At this day and age when every major technology/electronics manufacturer (and third party for that matter) is promising you blazing fast Wi-Fi speeds, glorious Wi-Fi coverage, and no Wi-Fi drops, with their router systems it's rather easy to see that this is simply marketing at its best. However, once in a while, a product comes a long that pleasantly surprises you. This was one of those products.
First and foremost, the setup for this Wi-Fi system was extremely easy. It comes with two devices. Each device is either labeled as "Router" or "Satellite". You simply connect the router to your internet provider's modem and wait for the LED on the Orbi router to turn solid white. Then you simply place the satellite device in the center of your home to a wall outlet and you're done. Once the LED on the Orbi satellite turns a solid white and then turns off it's connected. There is no additional setup required. The network name and password is labeled on the router. Of course for you advanced users, you can modify the settings to your liking.
Now for the performance. I know what you're thinking. This is just a fancy router with an extender that acts like an access point. Wrong. The router shares a dedicated channel with the satellite device and takes on a non-traditional approach. I was pretty blown away to say the least. Netgear claims that this device is suitable for users that have a large home up to 4000 square feet. I will be giving you my honest opinion testing it in my home of 1800 square feet. My home typically has dead spots at each end at the home. Especially at the two furthest bathrooms. I deliberately streamed media on multiple devices while testing in the bathrooms with the doors closed and I was very impressed. Blazing fast speeds and very consistent. I also had full signal bars. Typically with my internet service provider's gateway I would struggle to retain 2 bars and the signal would be very inconsistent and drop off. With Orbi,i being in these two bathrooms rivals the experience of being in the living room next to the router. The coverage was THAT good.
I tested over the course of a couple of weeks streaming things like netflix, youtube, etc in different rooms of the house and not a single hiccup. I asked my girlfriend about her experience and she also stated she noticed an improvement in the speed and range. So far Orbi has delivered on what it's intended purpose is; to provide coverage in areas that are typically dead spots in your home. For those of you who have larger homes or who need coverage in the garage or upstairs do yourself a favor and try this product. If it doesn't work for you, return it.
The user interface was very simple and intuitive. However, there were several advanced features available like port forwarding, packet prioritization, Router/AP mode, and even an ability to create static routes!! I'm geeking out but the ability to create static routes is not something typically seen in residential grade routers. I also downloaded the recommended iOS/Android app "Netgear Genie" and I was able to see who's connected to network, make changes to the router remotely, and I loved the traffic meter which gave me an overview of data consumption to determine which device is consuming the most bandwidth!
Finally, the design of the product is very interesting. It definitely feels like it's top notch quality, however, most might not like the fact that it looks like a vase of some sort. I see why netgear went this route as this is likely a product that will sit somewhere in the middle of your home so they trend to make something that was easy on the eyes and that blends into it's environment without looking loud with sharp accents. However, I would have at least liked to see an option for a black unit but I won't dock it a star for that.
Overall, I have to say I am VERY surprised by this product. The design initially did not impress me and I felt that this is was just another router that over-promised and under-delivered. In my experience, I had solid speeds and consistency with NO deadzones in my house. If you currently suffer from deadspots or are trying to get Wi-Fi access in something like a basement, attic, garage, distant room give this a shot and it may save you money from having to install another modem in another location of your house which would mean paying more service fees to your provider that extra modem.

Hi Karen, I have not experienced any steaming issues with this model. In fact, there isnt' much steam dispelled when the coffee is brewed. I was surprised since everybody was talking about how bad the previous model steamed when making coffee.

I have a 1400 sq ft home and an RV parked on the side. My current Router plus an add on won't do it for the RV. Will this cover the home and the RV?
I believe it could as I had no problem with coverage in an 1800 square foot home. However, it could also largely depend on how noisy the wireless spectrum in that area is.
