I picked this up after debating between this and a Samsung 55" Curved model. Everything so far has been excellent! As far as picture, sound and interface / features go this is an awesome tv. I got it half price ($1499).
As of now the only complaint would be Sony advertised this as having the Ultraflix app which as of now it DOES NOT. Both Ultraflix & Sony don't know when it will be available. Sony said it will be in the next firmware update but after some research it looks like they've been saying that since 2014.

I bought this for basic streaming and blu ray movies. It has all the apps you need to keep yourself entertained. The remote seems a little touchy, sometimes taking 2 or 3 tries to finally read the commands. Overall for the price it's a good unit

I would like to have all of my music, standard DVDs, & Blu Ray Discs available to access via an external server. I am running a Gateway i7 with Win 7 Ultimate. I have around 2000 movies alone. What would you suggest?

The media player on the TV picks up all my media servers on my network. As long as you grant access from your computer you should be fine. I also have a 1TB hard drive with a ton of movies on it connected to 1 of the 3 USB ports. Movies play seamless with that also
