Bought as a gift and one who helped another put it together, I can say that it was NOT easy to assemble because directions never mention you have to take some pieces apart in order to put other pieces on. Very odd, and it took too too long to assemble because of that, BUT, once it was together, it turned out to be awesome. A beginner could go far with this I think.
