The sound will be compromised a little. I use those for my rear speakers in surround, so it's less of an issue. Wouldn't recommend for main speakers unless you had to.

I use these for rear speakers in 5.1 format. Good for a rear surround sound. Wouldn't recommend for larger rooms or high volume scenarios.
