Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.Play as Cuphead or Mugman in single player or local co-op as you traverse strange worlds, acquire new weapons, learn powerful super moves, and discover hidden secrets while you try to pay your debt back to the devil! I've been looking forward to Cuphead since it first showed up on the Xbox stage at E3 a couple years back, the game looked truly unique and utterly fun. After delays, it is finally out, and it delivered.
This game is wonderful, and also terrible, but still wonderful.
The fact that this game was put together by three people is amazing, the art, the sound, the style are all spot on. You will be transported back to watching old Looney Tunes and Disney cartoons (just without the blackface). The game does have its dark comedy elements but it is stylistically a gem. Gameplay wise it is solid, not perfect, but solid. It's a straight forward scrolling shooter, with most fights being boss centric.
It is also very, very hard. If you're going to say, "Oh no it's not." well, cool for you my dude! But for most everyone the game can be aggravating, yet still instills enjoyment and a desire to beat it. It's a great game to play with a friend, or alone if you hate yourself.

Fantastic display, however do your homework!

After some time going back and forth, and a final check in the store, we pulled the trigger on this TV to replace a 65 inch LG 4k display in our media room, our main driver being a desire for HDR, an upgrade to an OLED screen and some additional HDMI inputs. I will get this out of the way; this is a fantastic TV at a relatively great price. It does take some configuration to get things tuned just right if you want to get the most out of it, but this isn't anything that detracts from the TV itself. It earns a solid five stars.
Physical Appearance: I never thought something could make my 4K LED screen that was only a few years old seem clunky, but here we go. This thing is sleek, and very thin. It is effectively as thin as the LG wallpaper, eg barely thicker than an SD card. The bezels on this model are silver, with a clear acrylic stand. The display is thicker on the bottom center portion to house all the guts, but it is across the board sleek and worthy of being called eye candy.
Once setup and running, the display itself is amazing. Everyone says it; the blacks are incredibly true black, but the sheer ability to process images, displaying in full 4K HDR glory is where this thing shines. It just knocks it out of the park. I will note however that HDR is actually disabled by default! You do have to enable it on each input before it will kick in. You have four HDMI ports to plug into, HDMI 2 being an ARC input (audio return channel).
In this case we have an LG SJ9 Soundbar to give us Dolby Atmos, hooked into HDMI 2 on the TV, with an Xbox One S hooked into the sound bar's HDMI-IN. It handles streaming 4k netflix in HDR, while also piping out Dolby Atmos on the content that uses it.
The TV also has "smart" features, running WebOS, so you can do the usual streaming shindig on this thing, but I prefer to avoid the built in apps.
Anyway, I'm not going to bother with some exhaustive technical review. Buy this TV, it rocks.

Purchased for parent, very pleased

My mother's PC recently died on her and the cost would have been prohibitive to have it repaired for the original price we paid, thus came an opportunity for a new solution.
As a primarily desktop user, she was not originally open to the idea of a laptop as she is retired, and primarily uses her machine for home bookkeeping, general internet use and Skype. She does travel with my father but usually he will bring his Surface. A light laptop however that she could connect and disconnect to one cable at her desk changed her perception however; thank you USB-C (words few people would expect to be said anytime soon).
Having eyed a similar setup for my wife on a new Macbook Pro I was fortunate to have the opportunity to spot a sale that same day at another retailer for an Acer monitor supporting USB-C, with a good amount of IO on the back to pipe through whatever device I connected to. Reviews looked promising so I outlined the setup to her, and after looking at the sleek well made ultrabook form factor of this machine, mother was sold.
Setup as follows: Acer monitor with a USB 3.0 hub hanging off has her HP AiO printer, Logitech Receiver for mouse/keyboard and her webcam plugged into it. One USB-C cable runs to the HP Spectre to pipe all of it through on top of providing power to the laptop. That's it. One cable docks display, peripherals, and provides power/charging to the device.
It works like a dream. Outside of enabling this setup scenario wonderfully, the laptop itself is well built, aesthetically pleasing and incredibly lightweight and thin. While I am NOT a personal fan of the need to make everything thinner and lighter, the design choices here with the slightly protruding back with 3 USB-C ports + one headphone/microphone jack was a great compromise on I/O. Being able to open the laptop with one finger while it is on a flat surface is a great and often overlooked little THING that many makers ignore. It also doesn't get terribly hot as far as I have seen under load.
Bloatware is minimal, removed a few pre-installed elements and getting everything going was quick, and the components included are more than enough power for a casual user like my mother; enabling a little bit of future proofing. The only nagging thing I noticed was an occasionally notification to "Only use an HP approved power adapter" when plugging into that one USB-C port.
HP if you are going to forge ahead with the USB-C, do not expect people to make their ecosystem revolve around you; you are not Apple and that's okay.
While the notification is a slight nag, it doesn't knock a star. This is a fantastic little laptop with a sleek design, a future forward configuration and a solid amount of hardware packed into a small frame. It enables a fantastic scenario for mobile work and desktop replacement setups with the embracing of USB-C, oh and they even toss a USB-C to USB type-A dongle to get you started on dat dongle life (unlike an aformentioned fruit company).

Pretty solid set top box, great value for refurb

So I should note before I purchased this I already owned a couple Apple TVs. I purchased three more to setup my parents with DirectTV Now.
Overall for what it is, the Apple TV is a great little set top box for streaming and general media use. Neither my home or my parents is a full Apple ecosystem but we use enough for it to be a a step above "generic streaming box". The UI is straightforward and easy to use, and setup is dead simple if you have an iPhone, however the remote is fairly handy. Anyway, I'll keep this simple.
PRO:
User friendly UI, no complaints with UX.
Quick setup.
Plays nice with minimal Apple eco system (Airplay from phones is a great feature).
Has major support/buy-in from industry and app developers (for the most part).
Solid performance over wireless N setup (MOSTLY, see CONs)
CONs:
Not 4k. The device should have been refreshed to support 4k streaming where available, however this is minor as not many services provide enough content.
Apple still doesn't allow Amazon Prime Video. Get over yourselves already.
In certain setups I have seen where AppleTV does not play 100% nice with 5.0GHz Wireles N signal. On my home setup with a single SSID I can successfully steer it to a 5.0 Ghz signal and achieve the desired throughput with minimal fuss, however previously it would refuse to connect to it when it was two distinct SSIDs for the different band. Minor quibble, it works fine now.
Overall I enjoy Apple TV. It meets the needs for my uses at home and my somewhat non-tech friendly parents use it without any issues. There are some minor things that could be better and thus deem it "Excellent" in my eyes but its still a solid device nonetheless.
