Broke after 14 months

I bought this from Best Buy a little more than a year ago. At first I thought this was a good deal because we bought this on sale for a little bit less than $800. All was well and good. I liked the space and the icemaker and water thru the door but a couple of days ago, we woke up to a "burnt electronics" smell in the kitchen. We searched everywhere but could not pinpoint where the smell was coming from. Well we figured it out in the afternoon when the ice started melting in the freezer and everything in it was getting defrosted. Soon the refrigerator part was about room temperature. We threw out a lot of food and groceries. The 1 yr warranty on it already expired since it is 14 months old. We decided not to have it fixed because we would not have had a fridge for 3 days so we decided to get a new one--a different brand since the store had next day delivery & 18 months same as cash. I do not recommend the Frigidaire brand after this experience. Please consider other brands. Let's see how this new one performs. We bought a 2-yr extended warranty on the new fridge--at least it will be covered for 3 years.
What's great about it: Space, features, price
What's not so great: Broke after 14 months
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
