Well worth it!

If you are going to get ONE Rocky soundtrack, this is the one. The biggies from all six movies are here, with a good number from the first two movies. Also, some very good music from Rocky IV is included. Recommended.

The Three Stooges
on October 12, 2007

Four(4) very solid efforts, all with Curly, in this edition of Stooge shorts. "Men in Black" has the boys as doctors working for "duty and humanity". This short was actually nominated for an Oscar in 1934. "Punch Drunks" has Curly as a prize fighter who goes crazy everytime he hears "pop goes the weasel". "Playing the Ponies" has the boys trading their restaurant for the race horse "Thunderbolt". Finally, the "Sitter Downers" has the boys constructing their own house. "Punch Drunks" is the big winner here.

This box set contains every episode from the third season of Larry David's award-winning HBO comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm. Each episode is presented in the original broadcast aspect ratio of 1.33:1. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. Supplemental materials include a discussion with the cast and crew of the show that was held as the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival. Those attuned to David's particular brand of humor will enjoy this solid presentation of Curb Your Enthusiasm's third season.

Larry keeps it fresh!

Another solid season from Larry David. Everything about this series, from the writing to the acting, to the supporting cast is great. It is a small notch below the first two seasons, but still highly recommended. My personal favorites here are the "Grand Opening", which features a hilarious ending and "Mary, Joseph, and Larry", in which Larry mistakenly eats Nativity scene cookies.

Released by Columbia on DVD, Kramer vs. Kramer features a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer that is solid and very well done. There is only a slight amount of dirt and edge enhancement present in the picture. Overall, colors are very bright, with black levels equally dark and solid. For a film over 20 years old, Columbia has done a very nice job on the video presentation of this disc. Audio is presented in Dolby Digital 1.0 Mono and, while only adequate, certainly gets the job done. Since Kramer vs. Kramer is a dialogue-driven film, a Dolby Digital 5.1 remix was not really warranted. Dialogue, effects, and music are all evenly mixed without any distortion present. Also included on this disc are English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Thai, Korean, and Chinese subtitles. Kramer vs. Kramer is not packed to the brim with extra features, but it does include a very long 50-minute documentary that is a reflection on the making and impact of the film. Featuring interviews with such actors as Dustin Hoffman, Meryl Streep, Justin Henry, and director Robert Benton, this documentary is a very thorough and in-depth look at all aspects of the film and its production. For fans, this will be an absolute must to view alongside the feature. Also included on this disc are filmographies for principal cast members, as well as theatrical trailers for Kramer vs. Kramer plus the Dustin Hoffman vehicles Hook and Hero. Although not an official "special edition," Kramer vs. Kramer includes sufficient extra material to be a must-have for drama fans.

A Great Movie!
on October 10, 2007

This is a well done movie starring Dustin Hoffman, a father who is trying to gain custody of his young son after a bitter divorce with his wife, played by Meryl Streep. This is acting at its best as both Hoffman and Streep took home Oscars. Even the little kid, Justin Henry was nominated for an Oscar. A moving piece of work. Highly recommended.

It's about time!!

Almost FOUR years later since season 2 was released on DVD, season 3 comes out. I'm not sure why it took so long as this show has a very good following and was one of the best sitcoms around at the time.
Season 3 is very solid with continued great performances by Helen Hunt, Paul Reiser and their great supporting cast.
Where's season 4???

This three-disc set contains all 23 episodes from the second season of the situation comedy Mad About You. Each is presented in the original broadcast aspect ratio of 1.33:1. English soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Surround, while Spanish and French soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence, but the episodes are presented handsomely and will be appreciated by fans of the series.

another good season!

The 2nd season of "Mad About You" picks up right where the 1st one left off. It's easy to see why Helen Hunt was a multiple Emmy Award winner and Paul Reiser was nominated (although he never won) so many times as these two work great together. Season two is on par with the 1st season with some classic episodes.

This two-disc set contains all 22 episodes from the first season of Mad About You. The episodes are titled "Romantic Improvisations," "Sofa's Choice," "Sunday Times," "Out of the Past," "Paul in the Family," "I'm Just So Happy for You," "Token Friend," "The Apartment," "Riding Backwards," "Neighbors From Hell," "Met Someone," "Maid About You," "Togetherness," "Weekend Getaway," "The Wedding Affair," "Love Among the Tiles," "The Billionaire," "The Man Who Said Hello," "Swept Away," "The Spy Who Loved Me," "The Painter," and "Happy Anniversary." Each of the episodes is represented in a standard full-frame transfer that preserves the original broadcast aspect ratio of 1.33:1. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Surround, while Spanish and French soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. English subtitles are accessible. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence, but this set will surely please fans of the series.

incredibly funny series!

"Mad About You" was always one of our favorite sitcoms while it was on air and this 1st season DVD is extremely funny. This show always seemed to be overshadowed by other shows on NBC like Seinfield or Friends, but, in my opinion, just as good. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing!

This CD will blow you away. There isn't any "new" material here, per se, it is the way that George Martin and his son produce and arrange it. They string together past Beatle songs together as they've never been done before. In some instances there are 3 and 4 portions of songs laid directly on top of each other. The result is beyond words.

This is one of Macca's best efforts in the last 15 to 20 years. This CD has a little bit of everything from hard rockers to classic McCartney ballads. You won't be disappointed as the vast majority of the tracks found here are very solid.

Everyone's favorite pay-cable curmudgeon returns for a second season of laughs in this release from HBO Video. Each episode is presented in 1.33:1 full-frame and accompanied by closed-captioned audio rendered in English Dolby Digital Stereo. In addition to an alternate French Dolby Digital 2.0 track, optional English, French, and Spanish subtitles are also available.
