I upgraded to the Blaze from the Charge HR and I'm very happy with this purchase. First, it looks like a watch instead of a bracelet. Second, it tracks HR much better and actively records workouts without putting it into "workout mode." Third...the connectivity. I consider this a light smart watch. I can control music, read texts, and ignore phone calls without touching my phone. If you need more than this, maybe something else is for you, but I enjoy charging my watch every few days instead of daily. Spend a little more to get the Blaze (over the charge or other trackers) and you won't regret it.

Are the buttons bumped by active wear?
Haven't experienced that, however have had screen buttons accidentally activated while using cable machines :(

Does it track exercises? It says it Automatically tracks any exercise. Does it know if I am doing Squats, Bench Press, Leg Curl, Seated Cable Row, Deadlifts, etc.?
No it just recognizes increased movement and heart rate and creates a workout "file" without you telling it to

Do you have to have your smart phone with you while you run in order to track your distance by gps?
Yes. It uses phone GPS, allowing for 5 day battery

I have the Fitbit Charge HR and love it except for the fact that I can't read it at all if I'm out in direct sunlight. Is the Blaze any better?
Yes it is. I upgraded from charge hr and am very happy with the decision

what will it track during a spinning class?
Heart rate, maybe. The Fitbit aren't the best on stationary bikes.

Does the watch setting have a second hand clock
I believe that at least one of the watch face choices has seconds. If not, when actively working out, I know there are seconds.

Is this better than charger HR?
Yes, it has a lot more functions, looks better, tracks movement and heart rate better. Definitely an upgrade
