This splitter does the job,and there is no degradation of the picture or the sound. One fault I find is that there are random 'blink outs' where the picture blinks out for a second or less. These don't occur often, maybe once or twice a week, but it is the reason I didn't give it a five star rating. The blink outs did not occur before I installed it.
