Smaller and a lot lighter than the regular which is pretty nice for longer gaming sessions.

Excellent for what you pay for!

Very surprised and happy with this turntable. It has amazing sound for what you pay for, and amazing sound in general. There is some setup required after purchase, but it isn't difficult. For sure read the directions if you are not an audiophile on the set up. Now, this turntable is pretty great quality, especially for the price, but it can be improved with only a couple inexpensive changes. The mat is kind of a point the cheaper out on. Change it if you want better performance. The needle is pretty dang good, but if you change it to a Shure-M77 it'll give you more range and less record wear, just a slightly better sound really. To sum it up: great turntable with great quality sound, especially with the price. It'll perform without any mods, but if you become an audiophile that is never satisfied with the sound quality, just those two changes will keep you satisfied for a very long time.

Do I also need to purchase a needle?

It comes with one that works very well, so no. But I did end up upgrading to a Shure-M77, which gives you a little more range and less record wear. The one it comes with is of very good quality (exceptional if you consider the price of the unit)

Does this have auto return at the end of play?

No. Higher end turntables are usually completely manual. Like driving a manual car, a manual turntable will give you more control, less wear (if you know a little about them), and a better sound (many times). But no, it does not have auto- return. The arm is completely manual.

Will this work with a regular (1990s) stereo (Analog)?

I am an old timer with records going back into the 60s & 70s. My old turn table has stopped working. Would this turn table work without a PC. I want to keep the sound with my amp/reciever.
Yes. I'm hooked up to a 1970's JVC Super-A receiver so yours will for sure work. It will have the same cables as your old turntable for hooking up to power and to the phono port on your receiver. Speakers should hook up fine as well. This turntable just has the option to hook up through a computer, which is nice because you can record your records to mp3 files and have them stored on you computer or iPod or etc.! But this is only if you want to. You don't need to in order to be able to enjoy your records. You can use your old receiver (or stereo--- kind of the same thing).

Do you have to buy speakers seperate?

Yes. It is just the turntable and cables that go with it.
