Paul Verhoeven's violent, biting satire Robocop has had a couple of DVD releases. This particular edition offers a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English, Spanish, and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. Subtitles are available in all three of those languages as well. Supplemental materials are limited to the original theatrical trailer. This edition of Robocop will please the majority of filmgoers, but those wishing for more information on the film should look into the slightly more expensive Criterion release.
