Great lens

Since purchasing this lens, I've basically ditched my 18-55mm kit lens in favor of the 24mm pancake. It's just wide enough for everyday practical use on my Canon T3i without having to spend extra on one of the higher-end wide angle lenses, and the f/2.8 aperture has come in very handy versus the limited aperture of the kit lens. The quality of images is excellent, and the bokeh, while not quite as dreamy as the 50mm 1.8, is still very nice. Focusing has been quick and accurate, and is much quieter than on my other lenses, which is also nice.
It might be a little lacking for pros or very experienced amateur photographers, but if you're still a relatively casual photographer like myself, this is a huge step up from the kit lens, and combined with the 50mm 1.8 and a decent zoom lens, it's a great option to get a nice range of focal lengths covered. It's built really well, and seems like it should last for plenty long enough for to get good use of it and lots more practice before feeling the desire to upgrade.

The bag is really nice, has some good padding, seems to be made well, and the extra compartments like the top zipper area are really nice. Strap is comfortable. Only dislike is that it really doesn't seem to have as much room as the photos suggest, but still holds the camera and accessories/cables without bursting at the seems, so it works for what it's supposed to do.

Been using this on and off for a few weeks now with my Canon T3i and so far I have not had any issues. You do have to aim at the sensor on the front of the camera, but generally if I'm slightly off to the side of the camera or even above it, it will still be detected. This has proved handy when using longer shutter speeds while still keeping my hand far enough to the side to not get stuck in the photo.
I'll have to see how it holds up after a bit more use, but as of right now, it's been working great. Does exactly what it's supposed to do.
