THE CALL is possibly the most underrated band in the history of music. Adjectives that one often hears when describing THE CALL include "powerful", "moving", "indispensable", "emotional", "passionate", "spiritual", and the list goes on.
This release allows fans to be able to see & hear the reunion concert paying tribute to fallen leader Michael Been who passed away August 19, 2010. The once in a lifetime concert took place on April 19, 2013 at the the legendary Troubadour club in West Hollywood. The original members reunited for the first time in 20 years with Robert Levon Been (from BRMC- Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (Official Page)) playing his father's iconic fretless bass guitar and singing lead vocals.
Drawing from an extensive catalog of choices with powerful lyrics that still move people today, THE CALL have provided fans with a specialty priced deluxe CD/DVD pack featuring all the great CALL songs you know such as "Let The Day Begin", "The Walls Came Down", "I Still Believe", "Everywhere I Go" and many more. 19 total tracks plus a DVD for under $15!
Peter Gabriel once said that THE CALL was the "future of American music". THE CALL counts performers like Bono from U2, Jim Kerr of Simple Minds, Bruce Springsteen, Russ Taff, dc Talk's Kevin Smith, Woody Harrelson, Mark Heard, director Martin Scorcese, Bruce Cockburn, screenwriter Paul Schraeder, and producer T-Bone Burnett as fans who have referred to THE CALL as one of their "favorite bands".
There is a video posted that gives some great insight into how the event came to be and a glimpse at that evening of music. It was a reunion concert that meant much to those who were able to witness it. Do not miss out on this release.
The "Tribute" album will also be available in CD, limited edition vinyl, as well as by download in addition to the deluxe CD/DVD.
One thing is certain, they deserved a better fate than the one dealt to them. This band is a great combination of musicians that crafted excellent tunes. Enjoy!
