I needed a consolidated storage drive for all my Mac and PC files in one place. This fit the bill with one drive capable or equaling the sizes of all my other drives primary partitions combined. My living room game machine (PC) is just far enough from the couch to make wired controllers impossible. This one syncs easily, has no lag on the controls, great triggers and great sensitivity. It's definitely the better controller. I have 2. The great deal is to buy the one with the PC fob first and then any of these work. The wireless usb fob allows up to 4 to be run at the same time so you've got full online, MMO, or coop gaming. It's a good controller no doubt.

This is a perfect size convertible travel bag. It's a brief with a shoulder strap or a backpack. It's ideal as a personal item on a flight. I can carry a 13"laptop, or a tablet and all my needed items (book, notepads, wallet, etc. It looks durable and took it's first flights with little or no wear. Pre-owned is just plain used. Factory refurbished means a certified technician took it apart and fixed whatever was broken or worn out. Refurbished is better. Used is like a car - it’s unknown.

Battery life?
Battery life depends on what your are doing. Games with graphics eat it up fast - about 4 hours max (world of warships is a good example). Video playback is better at 6+ hours depending on volume and screen brightness. General office use (email, word, etc.) and web browsing probably 10+ hours in real world use. Standby is great even with cellular. I’ve gone a couple days using it as I travel on the road without needing to charge it while just checking emails periodically and using work websites in between client visits.
Is it less that I’d like - yes. It’s a big screen with a fast processor in a light package so how much battery can really be crammed into it? Ultimately it’s so easy to charge anywhere a usb connection is available (airports, airplanes, cars, meeting rooms) that it doesn’t effect my workflow.

What components are expandable, and this would include swapping out items such as the RAM, HD, and SSD?
All of the above. The RAM can be upgraded to 32GB, you could swap out the SSD for any sized one you wanted and the hard drive could be swapped out for a 2TD (5200rpm though) or any 2.5" SSD. I've also seen kits to swap out the DVD drive for an SSD as well. You can also get external SSD or HDD set-ups , including hot swap ( I have one), because the USB is plenty fast. As it sits it's pretty well set up.

It's Overkill.
Any dual core Core series (I3, I5, I7) mobile chip (u series) with integrated graphic would process any video stream just fine. The internet connection at your home/office and the WiFi antennae on the laptop are more important. This is a mid level game machine or a good portable video editing machine. You'd also probably get let down by the battery life since there's a lot of horsepower and a really big screen to use up the small battery quite fast.
