The T50 is not your run-of-the-mill floor standing tower speaker. Just snap off the grill and take a look under the hood - you'll love what you see. With one 1" silk dome tweeter, one 6.25" extended throw composite driver, and two performance tuned front-firing sub bass radiators—all engineered with Polk’s proprietary Dynamic Balance technology, its highs send sound soaring, its mids are made to shred, and the bass you crave gets a massive boost even at the lowest frequencies. Its audio improved - for the people, by the people - signed, sealed and delivered! Easy to setup, supports Dolby and DTS, and connects to most home theater receivers, stereos or home theater processors. Have fun and play but prepare to be blown away!

Based on the many positive reviews from other buyers, I bought a pair of these Polk speakers. I connected them to my receiver and compared them to other speakers I own. The Polks sounded okay on instrumentals, but on vocals they sounded like the singer was singing through a hollow tube. It made the singer sound "behind" the music compared to my other speakers where the singer sounded clear and in front. Even at the cheap price, the Polks weren't worth the loss of vocal quality. I returned them and bought the Sony Core towers. They were much better.
