Based on the many positive reviews from other buyers, I bought a pair of these Polk speakers. I connected them to my receiver and compared them to other speakers I own. The Polks sounded okay on instrumentals, but on vocals they sounded like the singer was singing through a hollow tube. It made the singer sound "behind" the music compared to my other speakers where the singer sounded clear and in front. Even at the cheap price, the Polks weren't worth the loss of vocal quality. I returned them and bought the Sony Core towers. They were much better.

can you connect an aux cord with your iphone to this speaker?
Sure, you can connect one, but you won't hear much, if anything. These speakers need an amplifier. They are not powered. Further, the 8-ohm load may hurt your iPhone output which is most likely looking for a 35-ohm load.
