I was afraid the cost to fix it would be greater than just buying a new laptop. Thankfully, I was wrong (because I really like this laptop); cost to fix was only $65.

While this purchase was for my daughter, I did use it at her home. Other than the brush roller being hard to clean, it works great. She has long haired pets and they shed a lot. The hair gets wound up in the brush roller and is time consuming to remove. It would be easier if you could remove the roller, but I checked the instructions and it does not allow for that, so you have to fuss with the entire machine. There is an attachment for removing pet hair that works great but that is for furniture, not the floor.
