RED is tended towards NAS setup and black are for high performance not ment to be on 24/7 like RED drives

Can I download and upload remotely?
I have noticed in other reviews that purchasers of My Cloud are having trouble accessing files from anywhere outside the home network (ie over the internet from remote sites). Is this an issue? Also, the product description states you need to have a Dropbox (or other) account to access your files. So does that mean I'm also paying for a larger Dropbox account just to use My Cloud when away from home? Thanks.
Hello to answer your question no no need for drop box and i have not had any problems accessing my files over the internet aslong as you turn on remote access on the drive your all set
