The follow-up to hit album "Ten", while selling incredibly well, charts a course for Pearl Jam's future, at times experimental, while not being oblique, this album states the artistic intent of becoming legendary: "You can't get BIG, if you don't take chances."
"Pisces Iscariot" released in the wake of the success of their second album 'Siamese Dream' sold well, but, was left in the backlogs of band's history. Worth a listen, as a 'b-sides album' that was re-mixed and sequenced as an actualized band release.
Impressive overview for a now-underrated artist, who has always managed to make music that is relevant, but, is sometimes ignored due to a bout of arrogance, coupled with arrogance, for the first few years of his solo career. The work stands!
...With a couple of classic songs ("Love and Mercy" for example), Wilson begins a long road back to artistic stability, with an opening disc of odes to self-recognition. Songs of self-worth would soon follow.
...view of a musical genre that, too often, falls back on established tropes. Solo effort by member of old-school rap group Boogie Down Productions offers songs of faith, enlightenment, social awareness, as well as warning.

"The Matrix" trilogy, while supremely executed runs out of steam before series conclusion "Matrix:Revolutions". Finely-tuned performances by principal actors Keanu Reeves, Carri-Ann Moss, and Lawrence Fishburne, get bogged down in storytelling semantics halfway through second film "Matrix:Reloaded". Special effects and fight sequences reign, while story and dialogue get sidetracked in the face of a series of plot threads that go unresolved due to time and lack of preparation on the part of the creators.
In the wake of the success of "Gone Girl", this film was sidelined by fans due to lack of proper attention. "Dark Places" based on another work by author Gillian Flynn, offered new ideas in regards to story, plot twist, ephemeral ideas involved in euthanasia, as well as family, blame, heartache, continued existence at the behest of others.
For fans of jazz, spoken word poetry, Gil-Scott Heron, the Roots offer alternative music for hip-hop fans that get tired of the same jams, while re-affirming the uniqueness and inherent possibilities of the form.
...Get more music for your money! Over 20 songs, each under three minutes! "Dealing With It" is a punk rock fan's dream! Fast, to the point, and, at times, unpredictable in creative and musical delivery! Another point: If you don't like it, don't worry! The cd will be over before you know it!
Harsh, abrasive, uncompromising. Pink Floyd this is not! While David Gilmour steps forward on "Post-War Dream" and "Not Now, John", this is truly, a Roger Waters solo effort. A concept album written and recorded around the time of the British invasion of Argentina, Waters responds with a political broadside that resonates with utter disdain at a political system and a nation gone horribly wrong. Told from the point of view of a distraught, aging World War 2 soldier, who ponders how world politics seems to repeat itself in a never-ending cycle of clash, conquer, and retreat, envisions the end of the world in nuclear fire. Note: For those that expect a 'head-trip' Floyd effort, "The Final Cut" is in reality, a dour scream of pain from one of rock 'n' roll's most misunderstood intellectuals, Roger Waters.
