I can't really see what it does to improve my water in my refrigerator but it does taste a little better when filter is working properly. The only complaint that I have is that it costs about 100.00 plus a year . I would recommend getting the filter but when buying a refrigerator look into the cost of the filtering system maintenance.

I like my new coffee maker, it suits my needs

At first I had a hard time making my coffee just right. If I followed the directions in the manual it was way too strong. I don't use near the amount of coffee I used to for a 10 cup pot. There is a feature that enhances the aroma and this slows the drip down. When I use this feature I use about 3 scoops less than normal. I makes coffee smell wonderful and tastes great! I also like the way the carafe pours. No drips! It pours even and smooth. All in all it took a little while to get use to but I have learned to make adjustments to make a wonderful pot of coffee.

What's not so great: clock does not light up in the dark.
