Got this for my dad for his birthday (he's a huge Eagles fan). I listened to it with him outside while doing some yard work. My dad loved it! This is a country album with some pretty cool guest appearances. Check it out!
K, I am going to say this right now.. I love Hollow Bodies more than this new album. HB was brilliant! Fantastic zombie concept throughout and each song was larger than life... This new album has the same feel as HB but with less of a "wow!" factor about it with the first listen. Don't get me wrong, I really liked it with me first album. But it took me a couple listens to really get into it. This album is significantly less heavy then any of their albums tho (minus a few songs). If you are a blessthefall fan, buy it. If you are new to blessthefall.. I would recommend HB or Witness, but this is definitely not a bad start either.
I have been a fan of this band all along the way. Oil has some of the best screams in the scene. Ive felt bad for the guy as he has struggled with drugs and depression. Finally he has a grip on his life and this cd is his message to the world to those who are struggling in life. There is a light in the darkness. There is hope. If you only like BMTH for its screams, this isn't for you. You'll buy it and then complain about how they sold out, blah blah blah. BMTH are musicians who will make the kind of music they want to. Oil isn't in a dark place no more and the music shows. This is their strongest release to date. I am super proud of these guys. The few singles are the "heaviest" songs on the disc. The rest are basically Drown. If you're new to the band, this is a fantastic place to start. If you aren't a fan of the band because of how heavy they were, buy this right now! YOU WILL LOVE IT. But don't buy this if you are going to knock the band just because they changed or it isn't your brand of smokes. lol
If you're even thinking about buying this you must be a Slayer fan. LOL. So obviously you are going to get it despite what I say. I thought it was a pretty good disc. Not the most incredible thing Ive heard by them, but its been awhile since we've gotten something from them. I haven't gotten bored with it yet! Listened to it like 15 times in the last week.
Motorhead is one of those bands that fans know just what to expect when a new album drops. Same ol same ol. Motorhead and ACDC are two of the only bands I know of that can pull this one off. This album is really good! I liked the last one better, but this one is still good. Knowing that Lemmy has been sick and he might die before they have a shot at laying out another album...buy this! It might be the last release we get from Lemmy.
Five Finger Death Punch is one of those metal bands that gets a lot of commercial success, but a lot of haters in the metal industry. I don't really understand it. Sure they have become super commercial sounding and some of their songs are over the top (F bombs over and over), but for the most part, they have some really heavy sick songs! And they are super good at writing ballads! This cd is no different. I read one of their interviews about it and they said something along the lines of "This one is kinda in the middle when it comes to being heavy vs ballads. It doesn't go too far one way or the other". Its totally true! All the songs are like mild rock n roll rockers. Not a ton of screaming. And no real ballads. (Which is fine!) I really enjoyed it. The main single (jerkyll/hyde) had me skeptical. I HATED that song the first little while. But now I love it. Just buy the cd already. Its a good one
If you are a Maiden fan, chances are you'll pick this up regardless of what anybody says (and you should!). This cd is a monster. Two disks. All super long songs (several over the 10 Minute mark, one being their longest song to date -- 18 minutes!) For me, I love the super progressive direction Maiden has taken lately. I love music like that. There's always a ton to soak in and it never gets old. Its more "mature sounding". Upon my first listen of "Book of Souls", I found myself loving the material (make sure you follow along with the lyrics! Always helps with monstrous songs).. but after my first listen, it was draining. I had to put it down. And Im only able to listen to it once per day. I knew instantly it was going to be one of those cds that takes time to "soak in" completely. (a grower). It wasn't a bad cd by any means, I freaking loved it! But it wasn't one of those cds that I instantly had to hit repeat and listen to it 50 more times right there on the spot. For me, these kinda cds take time for me to grow attached to and absolutely love and listen to over and over. And thats just simply me. There is A TON of stuff there to absorb. But by anyways, by all means---- GO OUT AND GET IT!!!
Ghost! Such a cool band. They remind me of a lot of those 70s metal bands like Blue Oyster Cult. As a Christian, their image is something I can look past, because I really dig these guys! If you liked any of their earlier releases you'll LOVE this one. If you're completely new to the band, START HERE! You will be blown away by this release. It is incredible and so addicting to listen to.
