It may be a house brand, but it works just as well as an old PATA case I bought years ago. I also like that it's an aluminum case instead of plastic. It's more of a specialty item, but if you need one, this is a good buy.

Excellent Storage, but Gets Quite Warm

I bought this to play music in my car. File transfer speed was very good for a drive this size, but man does this thing get warm when stressed. It wasn't so hot that I couldn't touch it, but it was uncomfortably warm. -2 stars for the heat issues, because I don't know how it will affect longevity. I'm not sure if I would trust it with critical files, but for my purpose, it serves me well.

This is my first MacBook Pro, as I was always hesitant to drop that kind of money on a laptop, but I'm very glad I did. The setup was quick and painless, and the overall performance of the system is outstanding! My only concern is that it uses the last generation Intel Broadwell chip, but I knew that going into the purchase. It's also a reason why I was able to get it on sale (the annual MBP update is likely coming up soon). I don't think it will shorten the usable life of the system in any way, though. In short, I highly recommend it.
