The best Marvel has yet to offer. Nothing "special", still just a comic book movie, but Wish it had started here. Excitement, laughter, tears, 3D...it's got it all. Best of all is the films attitude, thanks to director James Gunn. As a fan of Slither, Super, and PGPorn, he did not disappoint.

speaking on the steelbook exclusive alone, you can't go wrong! a very nice design to add along side your other steelbooks. artwork both inside and out looks fantastic. more or less a repackaging of the old blu ray, which itself was A+ material, so with the new art, if you hadn't already owned, get on it!

all these years later, this gonzo little movie still more than holds up. a highly entertaining love letter to all decades of horror, cabin fever is a guaranteed hoot of a night in with friends. the directors cut blu ray looks and sounds amazing, and the deleted additions are very welcome, though don't expect extra gore. shame losing the original dvds plethora of commentaries, but i guess you can understand why. at least they recorded an anniversary commentary and ported over a few old features.

i wasn't blown away like i was expecting to be, but overall still a very effective and entertaining film. a great, classic type of story. great direction, production design, sound design, and brilliant acting. but id say expect something simpler than maybe you are. not much in the way of crazy action or mind-blowing character work, but a very interesting and thought provoking film nonetheless.

for a single digit price, maybe as high as 15, you can't go wrong with this double feature. two of the better dark castle films, and guaranteed fun for any horror movie night at home. its easiest to compare these films to a haunted house and the thrills they give. very similar. simple horror fluff, simple story, classic scares, and fantastic/beautiful production qualities. just shut the brain off, step inside, and please, scream. all in the name of good fun, and made with the tone. nothing about either film is trying to be somethings its not. (though house of wax is at times maybe trying too hard with character development, but at least it tries, and is more or less successful)

this movie would like you to believe its bigger than it actually is, which is part of the charm...mainly due to simple, but impressive special effects you normally wouldn't find in a movie with this type of budget. while watching, you'll notice plenty of times they cut to shots of cgi helicopters flying around...it could be a fun drinking game...and it comes across as nothing more than "look what we can do with computers!" ...it gets old, but you gotta give props for ambition. its a small nit pick for a film that definitely entices you with its characters and situation. and the blu provides more than enough for the AV/special feature junkies.

its hard to believe, and i almost don't. a classic IMO, but its also a classic audience divider. so for those who love, is this anniversary edition worth much? on the whole, not really, but only if you already owned it. for those who didnt, you get far superior, and lovely packaging. nothing new feature wise, nothing new but the packaging, but the packaging is pretty flippin awesome.

willow is but one of many perfect examples of the power of the 80s. as far as a look to a film, its mood, music, acting, story, effects both practical and digital, and just overall heart. we'll never again have films like this. that said, the blu is wonderful and more than technically sound, minus the deletion of warwick davis' commentary from the willow dvd. sad loss.

its crazy to think about in terms of time, where this franchise started and where it is now. the series has its hit or misses, but theres NEVER going wrong with the original classic, now in its second blu ray release. is it worth it? NO QUESTION. yes the packaging should've been blu ray sized, and maybe we didnt need the dvd copies, but the overall look of the packaging, inside and out, is wonderful. ALL old features have been ported over as well as in the inclusion of a fair amount of NEW material. any fan of this, old or soon to be, could not go wrong with this purchase.

has been a great year for classic 90s nostalgia films on blu ray this year. as an upgrade from years of vhs and dvd, it's worth every penny. the soundtrack in particular with the most obvious oomph, though the picture is as beautiful as one would hope. and with all previous features ported over, you can't go wrong with this purchase.
