The sideclick requires that you have the original remote for the device you are hoping to control. When in program mode, you put the two remotes with the IR transmitter facing each other. You hold down the sideclick button you want to use and then press the button on the original remote that you want to mimic. I would think this would work on any and all IR based remotes.
