If you've ever been burnt by unscrupulous paper companies who promise 500 sheets, but only deliver in the high 490s, or, worse, stubbornly cling to the offensive and antiquated notion that a ream should contain 480 sheets rather than 500 (!), then this is the product for you! I think we all know what a hassle it is having to count up all the pages whenever you buy paper, but having counted dozens of HP's reams of paper, I'm now so confident in their integrity that I don't feel the need to recommend anything more than the occasional random spot check.

If you're looking for paper for your printer, but you need it to not be pre-printed, and would like the different sheets to be pretty much the same size, this is the product for you!
The only caveat is for those of you who need your paper to already have things printed on it; in that case, I'd suggest a book, or perhaps a magazine instead of this product.

I got a few of the wired ones, and one of these battery powered ones for an unwired spot. I like that these interconnect, even though there's no wiring for it (or power).
Features like alerts/test reports on a smartphone app, the interconnect, easy setup make this a quality smoke (and CO) detector.
If you're looking to set up detectors (or, like me, need to end the incessant beeping of landfill fodder, like the junk kidde puts out before, losing your grip on sanity) these are a great way to go.

Good Detectors

These are great detectors. They're easy to set up, they connect well, and the app features are pretty good.
Smoke detectors aren't really something to get too excited about, though this one comes close, and is FAR less irritating than any other smoke detector I've dealt with before.
I don't have one of their thermostats yet, but given the interconnect (these both help make the thermostat more efficient, and the CO detection will tell the thermostat to turn off the furnace), I'll probably pick one of those up sometime soon.

I got one of these because the store ran out of the newer models. It's slightly bulkier, slightly harder to mount to the ceiling, slightly harder to connect to the account/network/other detectors, but still a far sight better than most smoke detectors. If you have no option to get newer ones, go for it, otherwise find yourself a 2nd or, better still, 3rd generation Nest Protect.

I have a couple of these, and haven't had any problems with them. The portable WDs used to have really flimsy connectors, and you'd end up with a non-functional device in short order, even when the drive itself kept on working, but they've worked that issue out. The drives remain pretty solid too. Speed is decent on these drives too. I wipe them immediately, so I can't comment on the included software. All in all a good purchase.

These inks fill your printer with ink (also your hands if the box has been dented in just the right spot), which is great if you like your printer to use ink when you print things, but it doesn't have any left, then (assuming you have precisely the correct printer) this is the thing for you!

I have 8 wired smoke detectors but replacing all 8 with a nest is too expensive, can I get 3, one per floor and then less expensive ones in the bedroo
I'm going to assume your existing detectors are wired to interconnect and not just for power. In this case, you'd basically have two sets that don't interact with one another. The Nests only interconnect over wifi, not the wires. If you get the wired Nests, they're two wire, instead of three, and it's just for power.
If you don't mind the lack of interconnection between systems, go for it. They won't interfere, but won't work together either. One of the things I really like about the nests is the fact that they're connected, and anyone in the house will know about it if there's a fire or CO buildup.

Is the auto back up software in CD form? Or can I download it?
I am buying a laptop without an internal CD Drive and I won't have access to any sort of CD-based software on that (I'm not willing to buy an external CD Drive). I would like to do the auto backups onto this external hard drive, but it isn't necessary as I could do the manual ones with the usb.
Software is found on the drive itself, and can also be downloaded from WD's website. Additionally, backup software tends to be included with operating systems. Macs have Time Machine, Windows has File History (or Backup and Restore for versions older than 8), both of which work pretty well, and it's easy to find for Linux, though there are too many varieties to mention here.
