Scarlett Johasson is great, she dos a fantastic job. Its a scifi-horror film, so expect that. also expect to be confused through parts of it and expect plenty of nudity.

If i could recommend one movie in the world to watch this might be it. good acting, good story, good salvation message. It also features the most successful christian band in history, and their hit song.

disappointing movie, weak message

I found this movie quite disappointing. It had a very weak spiritual message. I never read the book and, I don't know how closely it follows the boys account. There is no mention of salvation or Gods grace through Jesus. Some of the main characters who are leaders of the church seem to be clueless as well. If you are looking for a movie that is deeper and entertaining i recommend seeing "God's not Dead "

Great for a low budget horror

A great early movie for Sam Raimi. Its entertaining if you don't take it too seriously. It will make you want to see the two sequels; Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. I found it a little light on the special features. It only included a commentary. It had been years since I saw Evil Dead, and i still enjoy it years later.
