Incarceration has never been quite as insane as it is in this Adult Swim series featuring the voice of The State veteran David Wane. Take home the entire first season of the animated series that breaks all the rules.
This is truly something I never expected to see on anything but a paid channel but nevertheless in the early mornings this would appear. Gruesome, morbid, sexually graphic and utterly hysterical. Superjail will only appeal to people with seriously dark humor but the audience that it appeals to will love it. The first season in particular is an episodic, nonsensical, and utterly brutal rampage of psychedelic animated blood and guts. You will love it or hate it but probably nothing in between. This show is low brow humor most of the time, and thinly veiled extreme allegories to a dystopian world we already live in the rest.
Expendables 3 was a gamble and a lot of people didn't like it. Blood squibs were replaced with dust and language was kept to a minimum. That said most of the dialogue was more carefully thought out and less ridiculous than the second. Less cliches and out of place one liners to throwback to the films we know them from and more situational slapstick. Mel Gibson plays a pretty decent antagonist although when it comes down to combat he simply cannot compare with Steve Austin or the duo of Statham and Adkins in the second. Still a fun movie despite some absolutely cringe worthy pieces from the new crew. Snipes and Banderas absolutely steal the show.
This release from the dark and mysterious anime series Corpse Princess offers all 26 episodes of the series, following the story of Makina - a Shikabane Hime who acts as an assassin for the underworld. As Makina reaches closer to the 108 dead bodies she needs to rack up before she can retire, she discovers that she may have an even bigger job to finish, as an unholy apocalypse is threatening to destroy everything, even the spirit world.
One of the worst things in most current animes are clunky exposition trying to detail the action. We don't need a color commentary on what move is coming next and how powerful it is or will be. This one fell right into that less than a fifth of the way through it. Went from guns blazing crazy monster battles to godawful Naruto/Bleach every move will be painstakingly announced and described like a twelve year old trying to win an imaginary fight. That and it was already tedious to hear the main protagonist announce herself like a wrestler entering the ring. Devil May Cry was an infinitely better endeavor and it's a shame considering the different animation styles this show was willing to try out.
