Well designed and improved from previous versions. The separated keys have much better travel leading to less time getting used to typing. Especially helpful if you use the Surface Pro with a full blown keyboard and then go portable. The larger touchpad is great, gestures are more of a breeze and oddly enough it gets in my "way" less than the smaller one.

good travel, sturdier build

Yes, it's $130 and a bit spendy for a must-have accessory but it is definitely worth it. You can save a few dollars by buying the "old" keyboards but the keys have much better travel due to their separation and typing is at least 30% more accurate.

I cannot say how much I love my SP4, I honestly do not know how I would get business (or pleasure) done without it. the screen is so brilliant and crisp and clear. I don't use the pen input much but it is almost as nice as a Wacom input...oh so close.
tablet mode, no problem! detaching and reattaching the keyboard is a breeze. There times when the keyboard doesn't come up when needed but a quick toggle in and out of tablet mode does the trick. can get a little heavy after time when used as a handheld for extended periods.
