Iconic Innovation From Two Giants
on November 8, 2023
Posted by: nkpstudios
First and foremost, you are buying excellent Rayban Wayfarer polarized sunglasses. Polarized lenses block reflections and reduce glare for better contrast and clarity. Your eyes will fall in love with what you see. You must FIRST want a pair of sunglasses even to consider the features here. Many other sunglasses are out there, but they are not THESE. If you love the fit and finish of the iconic Wayfarer style, you'll certainly appreciate all the tech innovation packed in this timeless frame. This year, there are two styles to choose from: Wayfarer and Headliner. There are many color and lens options, but you must remember that customizations are final, and you cannot swap lens options. If you don't have a Meta or Facebook account, you cannot use the smart features, so if you are against Facebook, these will not be for you. Actually, just make a new account for your glasses, and don't eliminate them because they are that good.
Unboxing and Setup
The presentation feels premium, and excitement builds with every pop of the paper zipper as you tear open the strip to reveal a familiar-looking Rayban glasses case, just in tan. I like it more already! It looks normal, unlike the Stories case, which was more cylindrical and not as well thought out. For setup, download the Metaview app, have FB/Meta login credentials handy, grab the case, and open it up! You'll notice the LED ring, which is a nice touch to indicate battery life. Pull the plastic tab from the nose area and start the app-guided setup process once powered on. Run through the app and enjoy the newly added features and streamlined setup! The pairing process is way less involved compared to the Stories of old. The app is snappy and handles the importing of files automatically when charging in the case using WiFi6 speeds. They have taken the pain from the file-importing process, making it easy to offload and use daily.
The Meta Smart Wayfarers are refined and improved to the point that a new name was given, worthy of leaving the failed "Stories" moniker behind. It's what they should have done on their first go, and these no longer feel like engineering samples with weak tech for proof of concept. Hey, Meta as Wake Word is way cooler than Hey, Facebook. Finally, most of my wish list has been addressed with the speakers, mics, and camera upgrades. Now, I have usable smart eyewear I've adopted as my daily driver. My Rayban Aviators are now the backups; I don't miss them. I own multiple pairs of Bluetooth glasses, NONE come close to the value/build here. These have features and functions to set them apart from the competition and stand alone as smart glasses with cameras.
Build Quality
The frame, lenses, and hinges are all top-notch Luxottica/Rayban construction. Do not worry if these will last - they will! There is a one-year warranty to cover you as well. Sunglasses Hut are a good place to stop in with questions too! Just tell them about your cool glasses, and they will light up! The hinge is perfectly engineered and very robust. This is also my BIGGEST gripe is glasses get loose over time and need adjusting. The two T5 Torx screws make things difficult. There is no flex in the hinge or arms, which reassures me that these are solid glasses. These are also not waterproof, but they are IPX4 water-resistant. In other words, you are safe in light rain. Simply wipe them dry, and you're good to go. Prolonged exposure to rain or heavy rain is a concern of mine, but I don't wear them during rainy days. If wet, be sure to wait before putting them in the charger to avoid shorting something. In short, these are fantastically built sunglasses all the way around.
As Smart Glasses
These glasses were designed with tech to help you live in the moment and capture it with minimal effort. Inside, you will find a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 processor, Bluetooth 5.3, Wifi6, and FB/IG integration to share in the app, making these an influencer's dream. True BTS cam for sure! All the files are stored onboard for wireless transfer via the Meta View app. Moments are captured in clips up to 1-minute long in full visual and audio glory. The mic array records spatial audio so you hear things like you are there. With the inclusion of Meta AI voice controls, you can start and stop recording or skip songs hands-free. The assistant is very helpful, like most AI available, and provides helpful answers within seconds and accurately handles my prompts. Ask it questions like what is there to do around here, and you will be surprised! I did, however, find issues with songs randomly stopping after 3 minutes when not using their choice of streaming app named Spotify. I found the Meta app was opening Spotify in the background and closing my other music app on my Samsung Fold 5. Disable Spotify tap, and this should help. To overcome Meta AI integration limitations, simply use voice commands like Hey, Google/Siri to get dual AI assistants. Touch controls are excellent and very sensitive yet responsive and accurate. There is a small LED inside the glasses to let you know there are notifications or that the right eye LED on the frame is on.

Photo & Video Quality
The camera is leaps and bounds better than the Stories. The footage/photos are actually now useable. The 12MP sensor camera is portrait-oriented on the left eye and optimized to create content for social media on IG and FB. Generate 1440x1920px video @30 fps in 1 min snips are stored on the frames themselves. 32GB storage and imported through the app. Photos are of higher resolution at 3024x4032px. There seems to be light stabilization to improve the jitters and bumpy footage but it could also be the fit. Audio is recorded as though you were actually there again with all the sounds exactly where you remember them and according to where they are in the video. In low light, the quality breaks down, but still does the job to document or share your unique POV on social. You can livestream 720p up to 30 minutes. All posts are marked to advertise Meta Raybans made the content. There is only one lens for capture so everything seems off-centered when you are framed straight on. The footage is TOTALLY batter due to the 12MP sensor and also software improvements.
Battery Life
Battery life is rated up to 4 hours which in my opinion was closer to heavy use. In my testing, you see closer to 3.5-4hrs after I recorded lots of videos, used voice meta-assistant for hands-free controls, transferred files wirelessly to the app, while listening or talking on bluetooth. On a more typical day of use, I was easily able to make it 6 to 8 hours of just using bluetooth and nothing else. The case has enough battery storage for eight recharges. It took me 1 hour charge from 0 to 100% in the case. The case has a nice battery indicator ring to let you know that it is charging and also remaining battery life. The voice assistant lets you know battery life every time it turns on. Everything charges via a simple USB-C cable to ensure you can top the glasses off when not in use.
Bluetooth & Sound Performance
With Bluetooth 5.3, you get the latest power efficiency and audio standard. Only two basic codecs are supported. iOS gets AAC and Android uses SBC. The custom open ear speakers are greatly improved. Sound is clearer, fuller, and louder than the Stories but still need more bass. When watching videos there are no issues with latency or connectivity in the advertised range. As a Bluetooth calling device these standout from the rest with crystal clear audio. The caller comes through sounding like they are in the room with you with the open air fit. There is a lot of sound bleed at higher levels but if you keep this under 60% volume you will not be a nuisance. Whoever I am speaking to has no idea I am not holding my phone and on bluetooth. HUGE WIN! Due to the 5 Mic array, audio is recorded perfectly in spatial audio. There is no mention of noise canceling microphones but they sure work very well for calls. The tones and beeps used remind me of Metal Gear Solid and they are calming rather than annoying to me.
Potential Deal Breakers:
Not adjustable.
Lens upgrades expensive.
Temples frames are thick.
Lenses are not swappable.
Dual T5 hinge screws. Need 2-Torx drivers to adjust.
Proprietary pin charging, no charge w/o case.
Things to know:
Vertical Video ONLY & locked @ 30fps.
Camera in left eye offsets composition.
Running at least Apple iOS 14.4 or Android 10.
Meta Account to use OR ELSE!
Temple arms are as thick. A microSD card high.
Screw size is T5 Torx on hinges. Get two for adjusting hinge tension.
Touch controls are super sensitive.
Nose and temple arms are not adjustable for custom fit.
Lens are not changeable - something to think about if your prescription changes.
Ideas and Recommendations
POV Dash Cam while on the road. Hands-free 1min clips.
You can use these as a unique POV for sports highlights.
Business owner, see what your crew sees and give live insights on repairs and fixes.
Dad cam. Capture life without focusing on a camera. Just live in the moment.
Use EQ if you can to improve sound.
The Verdict
If you are looking at these, money probably isn't going to be why you don't get these. These are now out of the early adopter phase and show they are ready for prime time. If you are wanting to go next level on your Ray Bans, these will make you stand out and you will always have something to talk about with people. For me these are a buy. All the kinks have been worked out. With this release, the Meta Wayfarer is now usable and a step towards normalization. Get the price down, and these will be on everyone's face for about $200-$250. These are a GO!

Kids called it BUSINESS TURRET- a Security Guard!
on November 1, 2023
Posted by: nkpstudios
The TP-Link Tapo TC73 Pan/Tilt AI Wired Security 2K QHD Camera is a versatile and affordable camera that can be used for home surveillance or a baby/pet monitor. It performs well in all light conditions. The TC73 is TP-Link's newest addition to the Tapo line, which offers budget-friendly options that simply excel for consumers. There are many new upgrades here, starting with introducing AI object detection in PTZ. Everything you need to watch an indoor space is in the box: power source, camera, and mounting plate with screws.
My First thoughts
This looks very simple and easy to use. There is only one button on the front to put it in privacy mode. Great, another app to download - the Tapo app. Will I need to use the Kasa app for everything I already have? Now, the Tapo app for this ONE camera, even though they are both from TP-Link? Are the motors loud? This is easy to install. Just plug it in, set up the app, and use it. If you have a Kasa account, Tapo will migrate all your devices to the new app to streamline things. However, be sure to leave any enabled skills or links from Kasa to keep assistant functionality. The footage is clean and usable, very comparable to what you see on video doorbells with 2k resolution. Clips look digitally sharpened.
My kids call it BUSINESS TURRET. It's a Security Guard monitor for under $100. It is very loud and very robotic with movements. Just screw it on the wall to mount and unlock 360° patrolling and monitoring. The TC73 easily integrates into all three major home platforms: Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa. It is Wi-Fi 6 compatible, which helps with network traffic if your router supports it. The IR performance is excellent, with two different power settings for far and close range. This allows you to use it to cover a whole room or as a baby monitor, reducing the amount of IR blinking. The IRs and LEDs are very bright, so you better turn those off or down in settings. The motor is a concern of mine if you use patrol mode often to ensure coverage. For intended use, I can see this lasting a while, where the user controls the camera in-app to see mostly remaining in one spot.
If you use it as a patrolling security camera, you can use AI object recognition to automatically lock on and follow movements, people, pets, and vehicles. I don't know how long the motor will last before it quits in patrol mode, in any case. This is not a piece of commercial equipment, so one can only guess that it may break after the warranty period. Night vision is clear and detailed. Color night vision is available due to the sensitive starlight sensor that produces good picture up to 30ft away. There is an "Invisible Infrared Mode" if the red IR LEDs are a distraction while monitoring at night. Just switch to invisible IR mode to continue monitoring without disrupting red light, making it ideal for sleeping children and pets.
The motor calibration process is simply painful to watch. I hear grinding gears and clicks to realize it is at the end of its spindle. Just turning on, you hear the motors running like they need to be reprogrammed with shorter movements on the X and Y axes to save themselves. Hopefully, with a simple firmware update, these limits will be updated. AI is very efficient and does well identifying and tracking the tags you enable. It does a good job tracking, but you can lose it with a good juke move.
You're not stuck with only a cloud storage bill here. You get the option to backup in the cloud or also to a microSD card (up to 512GB, not included) in the back of the camera "eye" or use Tapo Care cloud storage services (subscribe separately). Overall, the TP-Link Tapo TC73 Pan/Tilt AI Wired Security Camera is an excellent choice for those looking for an affordable and feature-packed security camera for their home. Highly recommended and I use it A LOT!

Augmented Assurance
on October 18, 2023
Posted by: nkpstudios
If only I could get royalties on my stolen secret design plans for the perfect smart lock that recently went missing. The Yale Assure 2 Touch with Wi-Fi Module is the first smart lock I can thoroughly recommend because of its hardware/software stack. This package offers unmatched compatibility, features, design, and execution from a hardware company merging modern tech with old faithful protection. Features and function are what this lock is all about. If you are a homeowner, property manager, real estate agent, or just need layers of security for guests and contractors, this is for you! The app, keypad, and physical key are all equally proficient in securing a door.
Everything is tightly and securely packed in the box. Just unpack, review the instructions, and remove your old deadbolt hardware. If you need to cut/shape, a chisel is needed, otherwise, all you need is a screwdriver for this job. A drill is excellent for speed, but this is a basic install, so don't sell yourself short on the DIY. In my case, everything was an easy one-for-one swap with almost no modifications. The strike plate and deadbolt plates also fit. In less than an hour, I was up and running from deadbolt install to app and lock configuration, and you can too! Everything feels heavy and solid as a deadbolt should, inspiring confidence in your purchase. The finishes are all durable, and the keypad weather-sealed to endure the elements. I have NO WORRIES about build quality. Battery life is rated 3-12 months, but we have the WiFi module, so I would plan on every 90 days replacing the batteries.
**TIP** Use rechargeables to save money. With the added wireless functionality, the battery drain is higher. Turn off all features not used. Turn off the audible sound and status light, then shorten the keypad duration for increased battery life. **TIP**
The Yale Access app is available on iOS and Android. Alexa, Google, and Apple Home are all supported for commands and routines in automation scenarios. If you were an August user, you would be very familiar with the experience as it is just a reskin of "Ole August." I'm hoping the UI/app is totally refreshed to match the modern minimalist look and horrible color scheme for lock/unlock in the app. The app is robust and feature-packed at the lock level and user levels. Aside from aesthetics, this is a successful juxtaposition of smart app and hardware without sacrificing security. I trust this lock to protect my home with my wife and kids sleeping at night. It is a lightweight and snappy app and rarely has issues connecting to the lock like other ones I have had in the past.
Thanks to the app, "Ole Deadbolt" evolved into the Assure 2 Touch with reliable and stable software to provide options for entry instead of a physical key alone. Bluetooth, WiFi, PIN, fingerprint, and voice unlocking options are available to fit your needs. In app, you can configure the users as you see fit. Schedule entry if needed, depending on user/key settings. With alerts and a clear activity history, there are many ways to keep you at ease anytime your door moves. Apple Home Kit is the only method I could find that gave a battery reading. There is no way to know the battery life remaining, which is a huge disappointment.
Although not without its quirks, it is ready for PRIMETIME, and possibly, with a few software tweaks, the fingerprint reader can be improved. My 8-year-old child's finger sometimes has issues unlocking the door, but I think that maybe he presses too lightly. In my use, it is accurate on the first time. I no longer need multiple copies of the keys or wonder who made a copy. Their finger is their key. It also packs reinforcements in the hardware of the lock for maximum security. The deadbolt has a bar to reinforce it from cutting. In software, a voice PIN is needed to unlock with Google/Alexa for another layer of security. Apple Home does not need a PIN for one-touch device access. Everyone knows the old lock maker, Yale, and many may have heard of the smart lock company August. We'll now the two have become one to make one serious piece of tech here worthy of securing your home. From the hardware reinforcements in the deadbolt itself to the included security screws that you should use to strengthen your latch, there are plenty of things here to let you know an honest lock company was behind it.
Want peace of mind while away on vacation? Have friends or family who have codes and let themselves in as they please? Change from "Normal" Operation Mode to "Vacation Mode" for lockdown protection to temporarily restrict access using the PIN Codes and not even master code while you are away. With this setting, COMPLETELY lock down your home for peace of mind and restrict access to only app-registered guests and users.
Highlights
+Remote functionality anywhere the internet is available. Remotely let people in, lock up, share virtual keys, and track who comes and goes.
+Fingerprint sensor is amazing to have on the lock. Sometimes finicky with my children's prints, I don't find any trouble past the first try.
+Auto-Lock as soon as the door closes, it locks instantly or at your preset time, which is instant peace of mind in my book.
+Backlit Keypad allows you to see in the dark. You can easily identify the numbers, so you don’t need to fumble in the dark.
+Installation guides in the app were very thorough and detailed. There were videos and lots of visuals to help anyone tackle this installation themselves.
+Easy intuitive setup after installation. Everything is done within the app after you enable Bluetooth connections on your phone for the link.
+Futureproof and scalable. Yale is making modules with support for Matter, Thread, and Zigbee to keep your lock up to date with current standards. No need for a new lock, just upgrade your module!
Areas for Improvement
-Add light around the keyhole and Yale button to make this perfect. Imagine looking for a white circle, and you can put your key in right every time!
-Battery life tracking is horrendous. Battery life is terrible, so I recommend buying lithium rechargeables. When it's time, the light will flash red. Yale Access fails MISERABLY at displaying battery life. Apple Home allows a gauge for remaining battery life.
-The app needs a refresh. The big red circle choice speaks volumes over the rest of the app. It is out of touch and needs help. Get the app to match the sleek look of your product.
-Red Locked Circle Symbol for a safely locked door? WHAT?! Did I say I hate the red circle? Red is for danger or bad, and green means good or safe - I thought this was universal. Maybe they were colorblind when they chose these colors.
-!!!! The door should not automatically lock using door sense if it is open. It doesn't make sense for the door to lock the deadbolt if it is not closed first. There is a sensor for this, and it should be appropriately programmed to stop auto-lock when open. This could cause damage to the lock and also your door frame if you don't pay attention and you close it. A simple update in-app to when auto-lock and door-sense are enabled would be helpful. If the door is open, do not lock it. EASY FIX in code. !!!!
The Verdict
Buy this RIGHT NOW. This is the most innovative and secure lock I have used and tested to date, and I only expect it to get better moving forward. Yale and August have set the new standard for locks, and I can't wait to see what's next.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Thirsti? Save your bubbles and chill.
on October 16, 2023
Posted by: nkpstudios
The Ninja Thirsti Bottle is an excellent addition to any travel set or road warrior kit. I haven't found a cup holder it didn't fit into, and it's been easy to fit into life. The sleek Thirsti bottle holds 18oz of liquid, whether hot, cold, iced, flat or FIZZY! There are other sizes, but this is the right amount for me. The bottle is 100% dishwasher safe, BPA-free, and has an 18/8 stainless steel body brilliantly polished interior. The mirror-like finish is the secret to the fizz protection, and it actually works! Now, back to the outside of the stainless-steel bottle enveloped in a grippy matte finish—the middle is a crimped flat impression on two sides for added grip and comfort. The silicone strap is nice to carry and easy on the hands. The lid is almost 100% plastic with proper silicone seals and hardware for a nice squared, easy-to-twist lid with a leak lock to protect even carbonated drinks from leaking and making messes.
The bottle emanates premium vibes and is part of the Ninja Thirsti System. You can use this with beer, soda, juice, or anything carbonated you love or create. The bottle DOES actually make a difference in preserving the carbonation - all based on simple science. Porous vs sealed, like waterproofing, BubbleLock seals CO2 in so it doesn't go out. I am not a soda drinker, so the closest I could get was beer and a popular green bottle of "Natural Sparkling Mineral Water." The popular green plastic bottle of carbonated mineral water went flat about 2 hours before the Thirsti - Another win! In my photo, you can see how a regular bottle (left) just lets the bubbles burst and there is nothing in the water. The Thirsti bottle (right) doesn't allow anything to stick and actually repels CO2 from sticking and dispersing making it last longer. Keep the lid on and you will REALLY notice the power of CO2 preservation!
I tested for heat, cold, and ice in my simple testing. I filled the bottle with hot coffee, iced water, refrigerated carbonated water, and BEER for a babysitting beer-drinking guest. THIS PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS! All claims were confirmed. Ice survived over 48 hours in the bottle. 72 hours - the 3rd day of testing, my ice water was STILL cold to confirm the 24-hour cold claim. Did the coffee test for the hot test and made coffee at 6 am that remained hot enough to sip right before 6 pm for results. The babysitting beer guest watched a complete day of football from 1 pm to 10 pm, and the beer still had bubbles, and it was still cold! WHAT!?
My quality concerns are limited to the bottle lid and the interior finish. The weakness of many water bottles is the lid and handle. Like others, all plastic and connected by a flexible flap. After one or two drops, I don't think this will make it if you land on the lid, honestly. The comfortable silicone handle may fit 3 to 4 fingers to hold the well-built stainless-steel interior, insulated layer, and rugged exterior. I like the square cap instead of a traditional circle; it is easier to grip to tighten. I don't know how like the coating will last as you are discouraged from rubbing it as it could dull.
This bottle works precisely the way it says, and all claims are valid in my testing. It keeps your drinks nice and cold, and if there is carbonation, it definitely makes it last longer than if you put it inside a regular bottle. There were no leaks or accidents from carbonation so if you want something specifically for carbonated beverage preservation over longer periods, this is worth a try. I haven't seen any other bottles specifically marketed for carbonated beverages. Maybe this could be a new trend.

The Worx 4V ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors are designed to do everything traditional handheld scissors can—and more. Powered by a rechargeable 4V Max Lithium battery, this cutting tool spins a rotating blade that can cut through various materials up to ¼” thick—including tough plastic packaging, cardboard, fabric, rubber, leather, and wrapping paper. Its self-sharpening blade keeps the edges fine to deliver a precise cut with every use. While the cutting capabilities are powerful, the ZipSnip is optimized for safety. The safety switch works in conjunction with the trigger to prevent the blade from moving unintentionally. The blade guard also blocks the sharp edge to prevent accidental cuts. The cutting tool weighs only .86 lbs. and features a textured GRIPZONE handle to optimize comfort during extended projects. And with its compact and cordless design, the ZipSnip can be conveniently maneuvered in the home, kitchen, garage, and garden. While the battery maintains its charge for several months, it can be recharged in just a few hours using the included charger—so you’ll always have a cutting tool ready to use.

Package circular saw! This is a beast cutter.
on October 12, 2023
Posted by: nkpstudios
The WORX ZipSnip is a 4V lithium ion cordless cutting tool marketed as electric scissors. They get the job done like scissors but in a different way. To me, this is an interesting name choice as technically two blades need a pivot point to be called scissors. When competing against scissors, there is a case for fatigue and cramping, but a box cutter does the job just as well. This is more of a 10-sided rotary cutter or circular saw for lightweight materials like fabric, paper, plastic, etc. Your tool arrives in a box already fully assembled. Just take it out of the box, plug it in, charge it completely for 3-5 hours or until the red light turns green, and squeeze the trigger to set it into place. Once the trigger clicks into place, you can use it and you will hear it turn on.
The cutter works as it should. The blade is extremely sharp and has 10 sides to aid in cutting instead of a pizza cutter blade. The edges are like tiny knives, and they cut quickly through anything you can think of regarding packaging. I tested on plastic clamshell cases and cardboard with ease. I did test cuts on rugs, cloth, leather, paper, and linoleum without fail. The motor was strong enough to cut and never stopped or died like I was expecting with thicker materials. The GRIPZONE is comfortable and the ambidextrous safety is useful. The quality of the cut is accurate and clean! There are no jagged tears or rips in your material cut.
My Thoughts for Improvement:
+Blade lock - we need a way to stop the blade from spinning to change it. You need to put your finger on the blade to stop it. Not too safe in my opinion.
+Battery gauge - some sort of battery gauge or warning light to blink when getting low.
+Extra blade - an extra blade would be helpful.
+Blade change - the process to change the blade is dangerous. There is too much finger involvement with no safety. The guard needs to be able to move out of the way to make the blade change easier.
+Variable speed - trigger control varying by trigger pressure would be nice to slow and start cuts.
In short, if you are looking for a fast self-fed cutting tool for breaking down boxes or just a cutting tool that will not damage the contents like a box cutter this is for you.

Apple-like Quality produced by BestBuy! Easy Buy!
on October 11, 2023

Need a cord? Need one that looks nice and is built to last? How about one that just works? The Insignia Charge and Sync cable for Apple devices does what it should and is built solid. The cable is a premium MFi-certified cable for iPad, iPhone, and Mac that also works with all USB-C capable devices. Everything comes coiled and presented nicely on the box. Just pop the top and slide it out… frustration-free and ready to use!
This cable does everything it claims - charges and transfers files. Transfer speeds are rated up to 480Mbps but something more useful to us is up to 60MB/s. My tests show transfer speeds around 45-50MB so results may vary. This isn't lightning fast but is respectable for sure when moving things from one device to another. The cable is built with a beautiful white braided sleeve rated to withstand up to 15000 bends. The connectors themselves are of high quality and do not have a split down the middle I find on cheaper cables. The housing feels like aluminum and of Apple quality! This is built to last so if you are looking for a cable, look no further this is a GO!
I would recommend this to a friend!

A light bar with a "wiggle" of color and light!
on October 3, 2023
Posted by: nkpstudios
The Logitech Litra Beam LX was made to revolutionize your lighting setup whether you're a content creator, a video conferencing guru, or love excellent lighting. This LED light bar shines in many ways and scenarios. We will explore its features, performance, and overall value proposition. Everything comes packed well and is easy to assemble. Follow the quick start guide with diagrams illustrating step-by-step instructions printed on the lid interior to get started. It looks like hieroglyphics on a wall, so easy a caveman can do it! Aside from the uses pictured, I found multiple uses, from a desk lamp or key light to accent light or prop light; ideas are endless. This two-sided light offers both RGB on one side and high-quality LED for streaming or teleconferencing to be used simultaneously. Each side functions independently and is fully customizable in software via USB and Bluetooth in G Hub.
First Impressions
Opening the box, everything comes well-packed and presented in Logitech style to reveal only four items, all so simple. In the matching all-gray matte plastic construction you come to expect with current Logitech products, this fits right into any streaming setup. With integrated cable storage in the base, wire holders on the arm, and light, things stay neat and clean, too! After handling the stand, cheap vibes abound, but once everything is built, the light is quality. Diffusion is nice with a soft spill pattern to evenly light your subject and use RGB for ambiance and mood. Overall, it feels light, almost toy-like, and flexes and moves when fully extended. Extreme wobble fully extended I find quite annoying as it wiggles every bump to your desk. My main point of concern over time is the friction joint at the top of the arm. Over time, one can only imagine the friction mount wearing out and going limp so be ready to use another mount/arm. If you are a streamer or content creator, you may not even use the mount like me and go straight to friction arms or a small tripod with other things mounted to a cage.
Design and Build
Let's talk design and build now. As previously mentioned, everything is plastic - except for mount hardware, which is metal. The hinge friction is extreme out of the box, but we will see how it breaks in over time. Logitech employed the same minimalistic design language as other products in their streaming lineup. The stand is adjustable in height, and the mount swings close to 270 degrees to get the light where you need it. The base integrates excess cord storage and wire channels to make cable management more effortless. There are (2) 1/4"-20 mounting points so that you can mount these on light stands if you choose. The LED driver is integrated into the power supply, so you cannot power these via USB alone. A single sliding switch activates the corresponding side. The buttons are marked for brightness and then temperature on the button itself. When using either light, the + - button is always brightness. The other button marked with the sun is the key light's color temp, and RGB mode controls preprogrammed effects. Buttons feel high quality and clicky for a responsive, requiring little force to engage.
Performance and User Experience
There are two ways to use this: G Hub software and standalone. As a standalone light, this works perfectly fine, and I highly recommend it, but G Hub is where this SHINES! Everything is controlled at your fingertips and right next to your streaming software on screen. It pairs well with any webcam, instantly upping production value. If you don't need the RGB, buy the Litra Beam, and you will save a few bucks. HOWEVER, why wouldn't you NEED RGBs? If you don't need them, you will find a use for them once you have them. LIGHTSYNC seamlessly integrates RGB effects with other LIGHTSYNC Logi products for a beautiful display—all the controls you are used to are in here. You can segment the light and customize the effect to your liking. In software, you get where you want to be instantly with a click rather than cycling through the buttons to dial in the exact power and color temperature settings for the bi-color key light.
The light performance is exceptional, simply put. The light is beautiful, powerful, and soft, with many custom settings to match color temperature or effects. The light has a max DC power of 13.5W (6.3W Bi-color side, 7.2W RGB side) with up to 400 Lumens reproducing color temps between 2700K - 6500K and RGB capable of 16 million colors. I wish the controls were on both sides of the light and had labels printed to make it easier to adjust without Logitech G Hub software. You can control the light wirelessly using Bluetooth on the PC (if available), but there is no app for mobile, which would be an excellent recommendation.
Thoughts on Improvement
I wish the build quality of the light arm were better and would like controls on both sides of the light to improve. There aren't many complaints besides build, so if you can deal with a wobbly light or have another option for mounting, this will work fine. I would have liked to see a monitor mount included; however, I understand monitors come in all shapes and sizes, so that would be difficult. It fell from my desk to the floor and survives since I have carpet, but I doubt I would have had the same outcome on tile or hardwood floors. This thing has fallen over once for me. It separated, and the white diffuser just popped off. How many times it can fall? The one time it fell over, the white diffuser popped off, and THAT WAS ON CARPET!!!!!! If you have a hard floor, all I can say is good luck -don't drop it or trip on the cord!
In conclusion, the Logitech Litra Beam LX is an exceptional LED light bar that delivers outstanding lighting along with color for the creatives. Its sleek design, wireless control capabilities, and dual light panels separate it from others in the streamer category. Whether you're a content creator, vlogger, or professional photographer, this lighting tool is a game-changer for anyone wanting small affordable and functional lighting.

Innovative Performance and Effectiveness
on September 27, 2023
Posted by: nkpstudios
After using my Shark StainStriker Portable, my initial thoughts were innovative performance and eye-catching effectiveness. Shark found a way to remove the CarpetXpert's StainStriker feature and make a standalone compact and portable unit to become my new favorite extractor for cleaning up spills and stains around the house and vehicles. Great work, Shark; you have another hit in the making! I use it when detailing my vehicles, and I would try it with a detailing business startup for the price to performance. It is lightweight, easy to carry, and not burdensome to my cleaning workflow. I actually LOOK for reasons to use this now. **BUYER BEWARE: you may develop signs of OCD because you want to see clean, and it's easy to use!** This is a joke of course and I must add a disclaimer nowadays :)
Out of the box, minimal construction is necessary as everything is housed onboard a small self-contained unit with an ample 4.3ft hose and 12ft cord for any cleanup job. WHAT'S INCLUDED? Shark StainStriker, integrated crevice tool, 3.5" reversible bristle tool, pet tool, hose clean tool, 6oz Deep Clean Pro Formula, 12oz OXY Multiplier Formula. The StainStriker Portable is the perfect sweet spot where value meets quality without compromising cleanliness and performance. Using a two-part solution, stains are visibly reduced, and odors are neutralized, unlike anything I have used before. I have other machines from other competitors, and their solution isn't even close. The secret is really in the "sauce" oxy multiplier that works a reaction live on the stain you don't get with premixed one-part solutions. There is no need to pretreat stains, which is also time-saving. The cleaner smells ok but leans more to the cleaner side than the fragrance. That is okay because I want it to be clean, and I can freshen up with the Febreze of my choice afterward.
You take out the tools, read the manual, familiarize yourself with clean-up and maintenance processes, mix and load water/solutions, and then make stains disappear! The cleaning tools are also very effective and useful. From the 2 part solution to the brush integrated into the handle tip and the handle with a separator tank for nasty jobs you may not want to suck into your machine, this is innovative and effective on multiple levels. There is a 3.5-inch head with reversible rubber/nylon bristles making this adaptable for various uses from carpets and rugs to furniture and upholstery. Use the included self-cleaning tip to rinse the handle and maintain your machine for optimal performance! For cleaning and refilling, it utilizes a 3-tank system of small manageable tanks with handles that all house in the base so anyone can get the job done. Each side of the machine handles a separate function, and I just love how well thought out the design is, EXCEPT the hose is a tad short at initial setup out of the box trying to secure the handle in the holster. However, the hose will stretch over time and eventually "settle," so just be careful not to break anything when stretching it to the cradle. I set it up in a warm room in early fall; however, be mindful that the hose may be cold and brittle in colder temperatures.
Easy to Love About
+Lightweight - weighs less than 9 lbs. empty. With solution tanks full, it weighs less than 10 lbs.! One finger can carry this thing in most cases, so one-handed is even EASIER!
+Separator Attachment - a brush head with a separator keeps chunks and nasty clean-ups out of the tank to eliminate clogs and minimize germs and smells.
+Suction - suction power is excellent. The carpets are slightly damp and not soaked like other spot cleaners I used.
+Dual Activated Solution - the secret is in the sauce! The solution is super effective and does most of the work on stains. You can see the stain color gets neutralized, and there is no issue with the discoloring of the carpet.
Things to Think About
-Solution - a double-edged sword here. It works great, but you need two bottles of solution, and it uses a lot when you spray. You are looking at close to $30 after tax for a set of two bottles. Deep Clean Pro and OXY Multiplier mean 2x more managing cleaners.
-Solution Availability - good luck finding more solutions after your initial bottles! Sold out on Shark's site and not listed on Amazon or any other site I could find. It works so well that it vanishes like the spots they clean. You won't be able to walk into any big box retailer to grab more, either. The 1st Step, Deep Clean Pro solution, is only listed on Shark's site as sold out. The 2nd Step, OXY Multiplier is more readily available, so one can only expect production to catch up to match.
-Hose hanger. This is more on the hose length needed to be an inch longer, so you don't need to feel like you are stretching the hose just to get it to reach.
I believe this is an EXCELLENT product and could be proof of concept to build a more robust PRO version in which you get interchangeable hoses and other tools released. Maybe a commercial version can be created to go up against the big boys having more powerful motors and suction built of steel or other combinations than plastic. I can see this going into a cordless model with their battery system and I can see this going far. The sky is the limit for Shark on this one. I would love to work with them and have fun making this product and make it a no-brainer instead of a nice-to-have in every home. This makes a great gift for anyone in your life who has carpet, children or pets, and just a messy car interior in general. They will be convinced how having this around can keep their things looking nicer. It is easy to use and no one can say this is hard. On the rare occasion of a spill, even my 7 yr & 10 yr olds help and want to clean their own messes HAHAHA.

Built for the ACTIVE! Fitness & Outdoors BUY THESE
on September 21, 2023
Posted by: nkpstudios
The Jabra Elite 8 Active are the latest wireless earbuds from Jabra designed with sports, fitness, military, and outdoors enthusiasts in mind. These earbuds claim to be the world’s toughest, with an IP68 rating for dust, water, and sweat resistance and a 1-meter drop test. They also feature adaptive hybrid active noise cancellation, spatial sound powered by Dolby Audio, and a secure fit with Jabra ShakeGrip technology. These buds are designed to last forever with the outdoors and active user in mind. If you want to buy something that isn't going to break, withstands drops, and performs at a high level, then these are for you.
Setup and Ease of Use
Unboxing was simple and frustration-free. Open the box, remove the buds, charge the case w/ buds, then pair and enjoy. It's as simple as that, and you will not need to worry much about water if you are outdoors or just rough with gear in general. Download the app for the best experience, and you will be all set. Take some time to familiarize yourself with the app and all the customization and EQ options. You may not need all of it, but I find it a nice start. If you are a Jabra user, you already have the Sound+ app and know you are in good hands.
Build and Design
These, for the first time, were a perfect fit out of the box. Usually, it takes the large ear tips, but they are there to give you S and L sizes with M installed. I love the sleek design and grippy silicone feel. The experience is simple yet advanced and intuitive controls integrate into everyday life. The matte finish is grippy and the magnetic charging cradle feels solid. Support for wireless charging or USB-C makes this portable without charge anxiety. Earbuds are IPX8 dust and weatherproof for the beach, hiking, outdoor trips, or military operations. Waterproof to 1.5m or just under 5 ft fully submerged. 6 microphones for clear calls and noise reduction. Meets US Military Standards for ruggedized electronics - passing nine durability tests proving ultra-durable to protect against dust, water, sweat. These buds are saltwater-proof, so go to the beach or pool ready for anything. It is good practice to rinse off your gear to extend its life - these are waterproof, so keep them clean. For peace of mind and to stand alone, EVEN THE CHARGING CASE is IPX4 splashproof! This is a first that I am aware of, so now, if you are poolside or have a rain shower - no sweat.
Sound and Call Quality
Bluetooth profiles supported are: A2DP v1.3,AVRCP v1.6, HFP v1.8, PBP V1.0, TMAP V 1.0. Codecs are basic with only AAC and SBC currently supported. However, future updates for other codecs are possible. The sound is overall sculpted towards mids and highs with punchy bass that is tight and clean. If you like thumpy bass, you will be missing that on certain songs. They seem sculpted to a more balanced, neutral profile that sacrifices deep, rumbling lows in favor of clarity. Sound comes from 6mm drivers covering 20Hz - 20000Hz when listening to music but only 100Hz - 8000Hz when on a call. The sound stage is wide and well-composed, tuned for well-balanced all-around buds that cover calls and music beautifully. Enable the Spatial Audio by Dolby for an AMAZINGLY WIDE soundstage for supported devices.
If you fit your ear tip appropriately, you should receive a nice boost to passive noise isolation. Clear call technology helps with wind noise using a mic mesh and a noise cancellation algorithm to be heard in windy conditions. I am shocked at how good the mics are for calls, blocking out ambient noise and wind blowing past my head. Callers mentioned how quiet it was in an otherwise noisy office, which speaks to the mic-canceling noises around you. Callers sounded lifelike, and I enjoyed using these during work and play. ShakeGrip makes these fit securely in your ear so they don't slide out. This is done through an excellent design and liquid silicone grip enveloping the buds.
Battery life and User Experience
Let's talk about juice. Coming in at just around 8 hours (ANC on) and 12 hours (ANC off) of playback in the earbuds. Add another 24 hours' worth of charge in the case and Fast Charge, and you get 1 hour of battery in 5 minutes, making these very respectable. Battery life is a non-issue as I get through a day of heavy use or a few gym workouts. The case adds 32 hours or 56 hours ANC off. The app is what you expect from Jabra. If you used it before, you will know what to do. Otherwise, it is simple and intuitive for anyone to use. Everything is laid out in an easy-to-find UI to finetune the sound with EQ or turn on Dolby Spatial Audio for supported devices. Most newer Android devices support Dolby Audio and are in for a treat, but it does alter the actual sound sometimes in a good way; other times, it can sound overprocessed. I look forward to what the software can do in-app over time with patches. These buds fit my active lifestyle perfectly, and I recommend them to anyone in the fitness world.
Favorite Features
Android - Dolby Spatial Sound for Media option, no such option for iOS. Bluetooth 5.3 with MultiPoint connects up to 2 devices simultaneously and without disconnecting.
These can be used in solo mode to make battery life even longer should you not need stereo in your environment. The magnetic charging cases you know and love from Jabra are a feature that saves time and annoyance trying to line up buds to charge. You can see the bud and case battery life on your phone in the app or notification. I like the case. It also has LEDs to indicate battery life for the case and buds separately. There is also Auto shutoff after 15 or 30 minutes to save power; believe it or not, it isn't standard on most buds.
The Jabra Elite 8 Active wireless earbuds are best for active fitness or outdoor enthusiasts. They are hands down the toughest for anyone who needs gear to stand up to rough work environments. Law enforcement and military - I'm talking to you, too! These offer excellent durability, battery life, connectivity, sound quality, noise cancellation, and app support. If you are shopping for rugged and reliable earbuds that can handle any workout or activity, Jabra Elite 8 Active is the answer!

The Insignia MultiLun SD4.0 Card Reader is necessary in a mobile professional's life. You get a 1m USB-C cable and the card reader in the box. Holding this reader, you feel it is lightweight yet still quality. Made entirely of solid plastic composite, it's both durable and rigid having three card slots on the front orientating labels facing up for all three slots. The microSD clicks to lock, further increasing quality up to par with more expensive devices. As an added bonus, the minimalistic design language incorporates a matte black finish that is naturally fingerprint-resistant and doesn't scratch easily, in my experience.
Laptops and mobile devices no longer support card readers in favor of a cleaner look and increased efficiency, birthing dongle-life. Smaller than your driver's license, as thick as a deck of cards, and the subtle INSIGNIA branding makes this portable enough to go in any bag or pocket. If you don't already have a card reader or have grown tired of "old reliable" running on USB-A speeds, this should be in your bag without excuse. As a content creator and traveling business professional, this is the bridge to memory card land that sometimes may need to be crossed as you overcome challenges in the field or back up your work.
Content creators, photographers, and videographers alike will rejoice as they can take advantage of UHS-II cards and save on transfer times. Are you a mobile business professional who deals with memory card data harvesting? Search no more!!!! You will now be working on multiple cards SIMULTANOUSLY, thanks to MultiLun technology. You can offload any and all combinations of CF, SD, and microSD, effectively reducing your workflow and wait times. With support for SD, SDHC, SDXC, micro SD, micro SDXC, and CF type I memory cards, go to work on Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, iPadOS, and Android operating systems without issues. USB-C connection happens on the reader's right side, the card slots are on the front, and tiny foam feet help grip to keep it in place.
There is nothing but high performance here with support for UHS-II capable cards while also offering backward compatibility for UHS-I and older slower SD cards. All my cards were capable of hitting their advertised speeds in the reader, so I can highly recommend this! Transfer speeds can reach up to 5Gbps via the included USB-C. Should you need it, they also include a Type A adapter to convert the supplied cable. Enough rambling on about this necessary device but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this for anyone who needs a card reader because you get what you pay for!

Record high-definition video footage and crisp still images with this Sony AX100 4K flash memory camcorder that features Optical SteadyShot image stabilization to minimize blur. Built-in Wi-Fi lets you wirelessly transfer files.

How many minutes can you record with a 128gb memory cord.

Until you run out of space or the battery runs out. This depends on numerous factors like recording quality, EVF vs Live View LCD, battery size, etc. Do some research since there are various recording formats that allow for different file sizes. The Sony website has a plethora of information.

Why so much money?

REALLY? There are other options available that provide 4K for the customers with budget in mind. This is a prosumer camcorder that has some professional features not found in lower end camcorders.

Does this camera have a shotgun mic mount or how would you connect a RODE VideoMic to it?

Your question isn't really clear because you are asking about microphone mounts in general. I will attempt to provide useful information I hope will help. This camera does have the ability to use external microphones. You can use a Sony microphone that is compatible with MIS and not need any other adapters. The FDR-AX100 uses a proprietary Sony Multi-Interface Shoe (MIS) rather than an industry standard cold/hot shoe. You are able to mount a RODE VideoMic or any other mic to the shoe but you must first purchase a MIS to Cold Shoe adapter. Once you put this adapter on, you can then mount any standard cold/hot shoe mounted microphone to the Sony camera.

The microphone input is a standard 3.5mm stereo mini-jack. If you are looking to use XLR microphones you will need either a XLR-3.5mm stereo adapter or an external sound recorder.

I asked this about another keyboard. Is the lighting compatable with the ASUS RGB Aura. So I won't have to adjust the keyboard after making colors work for the case?

No it is not. If you want AuraSync you need to buy the Claymore from Asus. This RGB keyboard is customized and managed by Corsair Cue Software.

Track your heart rate, listen to music or talk hands-free on these JBL in-ear headphones. The ergonomic ear tips twist into your ear and stay in place with TwistLock technology without causing discomfort. These durable, sweat-proof JBL in-ear headphones have a battery life of up to 5 hours and come with a one-year MapMyFitness premium membership.

Why would I buy these over the beats wireless ? $60 dollars more for what?

No I would not. I own both of these headsets. The $60 more can be essentially broken down as $30 for the 1yr subscription to MapMyRun app and $30 for the heart rate monitor function. I still find myself wearing my PowerBeats because of sound quality.

How would these headphones work for boxing ?

Two words... GET THEM. The twist lock works great. If you have the right ear tips on, these will NOT move. No matter how much head movement unless you are sparring you obviously do not want to get punched in the ear or side of the head :)
