The aliens have invaded and something tells you that it's not peace that they're seeking. This extraterrestrial threat won't be deterred with amicable negotiations, and if a solution doesn't present itself soon, the entire world may be in peril, subjugated to the whims of this unworldly enemy. Even though you realize that by doing so the world will never be the same again, you decide to launch S.T.E.A.M. — which is composed of an elite team of steam-powered special-forces soldiers that may be the world's last hope of deliverance.Jump into a steampunk-inspired, turn-based action-strategy game from Intelligent Systems — the company behind well-loved classics, such as Advance Wars and Fire Emblem. Move into position and then fire your arsenal of distinct weapons by using the power of steam, which is stored in special backpacks and plays a vital role in keeping the world operational. Pick which team members you'd like to accompany you and then load out, working together to decide the best way to approach each battlefield. Outflank and outshoot the aliens in eye-popping 3D combat zones, where you can choose to take cover under attacks, set up ambushes and lie in wait or go on the offensive by unleashing a host of crossfires and counter-attacks. Work your way through alien-infested maps with the help of your four-member team, which is made up of unique characters that each offer a distinct set of abilities and weapons. Meet an interesting cast of characters that come to life thanks to the stylized 3D graphics and comic-book-style cinematics. Do you have what it takes to save the world from utter destruction using only the power of steam in Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.?
Bought this game for my son. Thought is was called Code Name Steve, so you can imagine the chuckles I got from the Best Buy employee I asked. He is really enjoying this game. He said many people might overlook this one because it doesn't have a catchy cover design, but it is worth the time.
