Sure, if you keep the chest strap on and the watch on as well and set to your parameters, it will.

Will the HRM work without the chest strap?

The basic watch functions will, but you will not have your heart rate.

Does this watch display your pace while running?

Best answer

It doesn't measure pace by itself. You can manually time your pace using the watch feature. GPS units do. It does a great job with heart rate, calories, peak rates and storing a weeks worth of workouts. I wish it had a stopwatch along with the traditional watch.
